Anyone Getting Progesterone Shots?

I'm only 12 weeks right now but my doctor want's me to start taking it at 18 weeks because I have had preterm labor with both my boys. My youngest I had a 34 weeks. If you have taken it does it really work?

I am 17 weeks and just started getting the shots but im getting them because my progesterone level was checked and found to be too low. So now i'll be getting 2 shots a week. At first I was really scared and thought that I might have a miscarriage because my progesterone level was low but I feel better now that im getting the shots. I just really hope everything goes ok the rest of my pregnancy. I hope everything goes good for you too!

My doctor wants me to start progesterone shots because my cervix is starting to shorten. But I will be 22 weeks on Friday and I read usually they start them before now. And also, they haven't really done studies on the long term effects on the babies, so I don't know if I want to do it or not. I am hoping that if they just put me on bedrest, it might be enough.
