I can not go to prenatal classes, but this is our first baby. My husband and I wanted to read up as much as possible since we cant go in person to the classes. We want to be prepared! Any suggestions?

I think the best thing is to do as much reading as you can - I also watch any shows on pregnancy and childbirth - like TLC baby story. Other than that - I went to a few classes with my first pregnancy and honestly you'll learn everything from books and family or friends....but really birth is something you can't be totalled prepared for - it is always different for everyone:) Just being on this site will help you lots too! Good luck.

Do you have the book "What to expect when you're expecting"? If not thats very useful. I also like "C" watch TLC's The Baby Story. Also on the Discovery health channel they have tons of shows on. Also just read the Q&A's on here.
Good Luck and keep :-)

I know this web site has lots of info....I mean info on labour and delivery, specifically the stuff you would learn if you went to prenatal classes. And M, yes I do have that book, it is great, I just wanted info on breathing techniques and other pain management type stuff.

Hi you could goto about.com, pregnancy website, they are offering free childbirth ecourses. You just have to give an e-mail and submit, they send you a class every week or so. the link is http://pregnancy.about.com/cs/child
birthclasses/l/blonlineclasses.htm

Hope it was useful, all the best.
