Hi Mommies! I was just wondering if there is really any truth to if you have really bad morning sickness then you're having a girl. I am 18 weeks and I've had it BAD this whole pregnancy up to about 2 weeks ago. Everyone keeps telling me I'm having a girl. I just wondered if there is really any truth to that or if some of you were really sick like this and still had a boy. Me and my husband really really want a baby boy sooo bad...so when people tell us oh you're having a girl then it kind of annoys us. I don't want to sound selfish because of course we will be incredibly happy with a little girl. I'm just telling myself I'm having a girl because SOOO many people say it. Any advice?

old wives tale! there is so many and the older generations really believe them i think, but there really is no truth behind any of them and there are tons of them! just wait for the ultrasound and let people say what they say!

My family was exactly the opposite. People with bad morning sickness= boy. People who had good pregnancies=girl. It all depends on the person really. I've heard it go both ways. I wish it went that way though, as we're sorta hoping for a girl and I had morning sickness.

I had very little m/s with my boys and a lot with my dd and the m/s lasted the whole 9 months with my dd, but with my boys it was gone after the 1st trimester. BUT... it really is just a myth that everyone is like that. All people and all pregnancies are different.

I didn't end up having morning sickness with either of my babies. The 1st was a boy, this one is a girl. So no truth to it, just an old wives tale.

If thats the case then my three previous pregnancies should have all been girls but unless my sex-ed classes were very wrong they are definitely all boys!! I got sick with all of them although my first was only the one day! Morning sickness lasted all day with my second and third and so far the same again although we don't know what we are having with this one either! I carried them all differently too, some high, some low and yet all the same sex! Short of the birth or 100% sure on a scan there is no real way to tell. Congratulations though on a healthy baby!

Thanks so much for all the comments! It seems since every pregnancy is different you just never know. I saw my sister in law tonight and she said...I saw the cutest diaper bag for you today for a little girl! I told her to wait til I get the ultrasound. I go for an ultrasound in 2 weeks. I can't wait! Thanks mommies!

I had morning sickness from 5 weeks upto 13 weeks! It definitely wasnt as bad as some of the stories ive heard! I only actually through up twice! Therefore, i wouldnt call it severe! On the other hand .... last week, i found out im having a little girl! So it didnt work for me. Good luck x

my sister had absolutely NO morning sickness, not even a little nauseous with both her girls so i dont think that one is true...good luck!

I had morning sickness really bad and I'm having a girl...but my sister out of 7 kids, the 2 times she had morning sickness really bad she had boys...so its just an old wives tale. I wouldn't go off of that.
