Well ladies I am thinking about givng up on the not having sex with hubby..... The doc said that it is ok to have sex, but I was going to make him wait. I told him that he had to be careful and not so rough. He said ok, but he still tends to get a little rough at times. This will be our second. We have a little boy who will be 5 in Sept. We are really wanting a girl, but a boy would be great also. We have names picked out either way. Its funny because I am already starting to show. I lve my lil bump. My son was like mommy your belly is big. I was like yeah, it is the baby is growning. I can hardly fit any of my clothes anymore.

Muchmom, Well I couldn't imagine not having sex for a month. Unless I am deathly ill.

Though I have found with this pregnancy it has changed our sex life already. I am wondering if this has happened to anyone else, especially first time mom's.

sbea- I am a first time mom and in my 17th week and yes, this pregnancy has changed my sex life. I would say that for right now it has changed it for the worst! I was so sick the first 14 weeks or so...so there was NOTHING going on then. And now that I am not sick anymore, I still find myself not really wanting to. Which is so stupid because while it is happening, I am loving it! I am hoping that as this second trimester goes on, I will get that increased sex drive that everyone talks about!

Dice- I know what you mean. That sounds like me. When we do do the BD it is great. Better than the last 3 years, but I am just not interested in it right now either. But I have also been sick this past week and now we are moving and two weeks before that DH was sick for a couple weeks. Just bad timing all around. I feel sorry for him though. I find that we aren't as close either. Today is my last day at work so maybe not working will help too. Since I am still tired most days and in bed before DH as well. I am just not willing to stay up late to do the deed anymore and he doesn't come to bed earlier. Well I am glad I am not alone in this.

Hey girls, I am not intersted in any of it right now either. Primarily because I am still just too tired all the time. (I am 14 weeks. Man I have a LONG way to go!) I have to say that after my last baby, I never got my sex drive back, it was like my hormones were forever diminished or something :( That has been really hard. I complained more than once to the DR but basically he said physically I am all fine, so he blamed the whole thing on my husband, saying he is probably not treating me right, etc etc blah blah blah. Very frustrating! I am hoping after this baby I permanently "get myself back"!!

sbea and MNMOM- It is so nice to know that I am not the only one feeling this way! I would really like to know when the wonderful sex drive is supposed to set in. I here so many stories of women going crazy with needing sex and even my pregnancy book says my sex drive should be more then it has ever been. My friend was telling me of when she was pregnant that she would be walking down the street and her pants would hit her "just right" and she could turn herself on. I don't know if I want it to go THAT far, but I do know that I want more then I have now. And I am sure that my husband wouldn't mind me getting a more intense sex drive. In fact when he reads the pregnancy book, he looks at me and says, "I wonder when it will kick in for you"! I don't want to make him go with out, so I feel that sometimes I am just having sex to please him. Which when I think of it, it is like a chore...but like I said before, I like it when it is happening! I guess all there is to do is to hope it comes on full force sometime soon!

Well dh and I weren't allowed to have sex during my first couple of months because of my cyst, I couldn't do anything that might potentially cause it to rupture. So now that it is shrinking, we are able to do it again, but I get so worried that I just don't enjoy it. And it's usually uncomfortable in most positions. I also HATE the way I look naked right now so I am just not a very fun wife these days lol. Hopefully soon I will get the surge of hormones that you ladies are talking about, and I won't care how I look and I'll start to enjoy it again. I know hubby will be much happier when that happens!

well i had my first scan yesterday so now i am an october mum!! they have given me the 29th of october!

Joanne-hurray! You and I are due at the same time. Did you find out what you are having? Things sound all good for you, you must be on top of the world! :)

yes everything looked great but they cudnt tell the sex of the baby as it was in an awkward postion so maybe next time!

How could they tell the sex so soon? I'm due the 30th and they told me they couldn't tell until 18-20 weeks! Plus, the doctor said they don't do the ultrasound to find out the sex, but to make sure everything looks okay with the baby. Boy, did I feel dumb! lol

Hi ladies, its nice to see everyone and their little ones are doing good. Well I decided to give in to hubby. He was so genntle and not so rough I was like wow what happen to my hubby. LOL it was great though. I guess he got the point finally. Well I am so excited our next apt with the Ob is on the the 18th of May, and I am praying that they will be able to tell us the sex. I am so excited to go shopping. My sister is due in June with a lil boy and everyone is waiting and wishing that I am going to have a girl. We have a ton of little boys running around, but only two little girls 7 & 5. So hopefully we will see. I hope that he dont say that they can not tell. I will be 17 weeks and they should be able to see. Well ladies keep us posted on your progress and when you know what the sex is. Congrads ladies! :-)

That is so great to hear about everyone!

Well we are in our final stages of moving. All our stuff has gone up to our new place and we start travelling on thursday. I am also excited to be going to the doctors today. As I can't get rid of this cold. I know there isn't much they can do, but it is keeping me up and the lack of sleep is helping no one. I will be 18 weeks either tomorrow or thursday but I would have my U/S since they couldn't get me in until May and well we won't even be in the same city anymore.

Oh and I am axiously waiting for the phone call on the anmio results. I could hear back at the earliest on Thursday. I am nervous to be getting the results over phone. I just keep thinking what the nurse said about the fact that she expects to give everyone good news. It is rare that they tell someone they are having a down's baby.

Has anyone started buying stuff for the baby? We just bought the stroller and are having it shipped up to where we are moving. Wow was it an expensive thing to buy! All I know is I need to get cracking as I am almost half way through this pregnancy! I can't believe how time flys.

DiGiacomo-The sex can be determined as early as 14 weeks, although that early it can be difficult,gets easier more like at 16 weeks. But you are correct, the point of the ultrasound is not to find out the sex, but to check on the development of the baby, the health/position of placenta, etc. However, for most moms, the most exciting part is finding out the gender of the baby. Ultrasouds are routinely done between the 18th and 22nd week of pregnancy to check out all these development things in depth and so that is typically when moms find out the gender. But for those that have earlier ultrasounds to confirm due dates, rule out complications, etc, some moms get to find out a little sooner :)

Calling all October moms: Is there anyone out there in addition to myself, that are choosing NOT to find out the gender of thier baby prior to to birth?? Just thought a little poll would be fun :)

DiGIA - Sorry to hear of the twin loss. We also had the same told to us at the 12 week u/s just when I had decided to start accepting the twins scenario. It was tough, had no symptoms, and none still. And of course, we are happy that the other one is doing well and strong h/b, and we look forward to each month's u/s.

Wunder - I am the same way - get so anxious night before and morning of. Told dh, feels like I am going to take a "test". :) Glad to hear others go thru it too. This is our first also - after 2 m/c's over past 3 yrs.

Mama - Hope your new job is going well. And you can get away w/o them knowing till you are ready.
