I just remembered another great song. Richard Marx Angel's Lullaby

This is the most helpful forum I've found. My best friend is pregnant with a baby boy, and asked me to make a CD to play at the baby shower. She asked 2 days ahead of time, and wanted the songs to be boy specific. I've found almost every song I'm using, on here. You all are amazing!

There's some great suggestions in here. Most lists I've found have only cheezy country songs - not my cup of tea. Nice to see such a range here.

Will Smith's Just the Two of Us - A surprisingly beautiful song to his son.
CSNY's Teach Your Children (surprised no one else suggested it yet)
Dixie Chick's Lullaby
Bobby Darin's You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby
Louis Armstrong's What A Wonderful World

Something not specific to children, but I think works nice is The Beatles Across The Universe, and also No Doubt's Running.

Jewel's Lullaby album has some pretty songs on it, though they are very slow. The standouts for me were Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Brahm's Lullaby. Sinead O'Conner also has a slow one, called My Special Child.

I saw the suggestion for Danny's Song - but you should check out the original Anne Murray version.
