This may be a siily question. I am almost 24 week and for the last 4 days I have noticed a soreness and stiffness in my hips. Is this just bones moving making room for baby? Thanks

More than likely it is caused from your pelvic bones shifing and muscles relaxing preparing for the birth. I know it can be uncomfortable. I have had severe pain in my right hip for quite a few weeks now. I'm 25 weeks by the way. I've even been to physical theraoy, but I think the only thing that will relieve it is delivery.

I just noticed your name. Are you in N.C or just a fan?

I've been getting the same thing, but also a pinching feeling at the bottom/sides of my back.....the only thing that fixes it is a hotwater bottle, it seems to do the trick :)

I'm almost 23 weeks - I have something similar. Sometimes it hurts too bad to even walk and I want to scream! I talked to my OB and she recommended physical therapy. I've been walking a mile every day and swimming laps every other day and nothing seems to really help except to sit back and prop my legs up for a few hours. My doc told me the pain is caused by the bones moving too fast from a hormone that relaxes the muscles and ligaments. If it is really bad you should talk to your doctor but hopefully it will go away after delivery. I feel for ya!

hey guys, i have this to! im only 18 weeks. It's been the last 2 days now, usually it only happened once or twice. Mine is on my left side though, i guess i'm just weird lol.

It could be the added weight from baby along with the hormones relaxing the pelvis. However, I suffered from pelvic dystrophy (I think that is spelt right - head pickled today!) and I got to te point where I could barely walk, driving was a nightmare trying to move the clutch and going up the stairs was agony. I am hoping it doesn't occur with this pregnancy!

I am 33 weeks and hate to say it, but hasn't gotten better. My knee and hip pain started in the 2nd tri and is still going. More the hips than knees now though. I switch sides all night long to try and alleviate it.

I went to doc yesterday and found out the real cause of my pelvic pain. I probably have a bladder infection. I never had one before, so I didnt even know. Just thought I would update on this. Thanks :)
