I am 16w 3d pregnant. The other night I had a four-hour-long fight with dh's sister that got me so stressed that I broke out in hives and threw up. I didn't sleep that night and couldn't eat the next day (I'm not going to say what we were fighting about but it was definitely a subject that hit close to home).
Today I feel fine but am now worried about what these couple days have done to my baby. I haven't felt the baby move yet so there's no way for me to tell that everything's okay. I would be devastated if my own selfish argument caused any permanent damage.
What are the effects of severe stress on a fetus?

You and your baby can withstand more stress than you think. Imagine the stress some people are under with unwanted pregnancies, losing their jobs, death of a spouse, abusive situations ~ stress is no stranger to pregnancy in general.
Take care of yourself and try to avoid putting that much stress on yourself in the future ~ but you're just fine. We're all allowed a few upset days here and there. It didn't do any damage. :-)
