I am not concerned it's just weird. My right foot and leg remain totally normal but my left is swollen, spider veins, varicose veins, shoes don't fit. My dr says no biggie but I just think its odd that it is one sided and was wondering if anyone else has this lopsided affect or if I am just a complete weird-o.

I had that too in a previous pregnancy, starting around 5 months. I seem to remember it was my right side that was worse. It got a little better but never completely went away. My doctor wasn't worried about it either.

I've been having the same problem. My left foot was swollen for the longest time. Lately they both have been, but at first it was just the left one. I think it might have something to do with the way we stand. I usually stand balanced more on my left foot rather than even on both feet.

Thanks to both of you! I am 5 months right now so the timing is right. I never thought about paying attention to how I stand, but I do cross my legs right over left. That has become the hardest habit to break. Glad to hear I am not a freak. THANKS!!

That happened to me, too, with my first baby. I hadn't had any swelling up until then (it was around 6 months) and one day I came home from work and noticed that my one foot, ankle and calf were HUGE and achy and the other leg was normal. I called my OB and they freaked me out by telling me to go to the hospital immediately and not to drive myself because it might be a clot. They did an u/s on my leg and it turned out to be nothing alarming... I was just a freak of nature, that's all LOL.

My SIl told me about this happening to her. She said something about the circulation being better on one side of the body than the other because the vena cava is on one side which is the artery that feeds blood back up to the heart. Our MIL who is a nurse did not seem overly concerned about it.

This usually is nothing serious, but it can be a sign of a blood clot in your leg. Be sure to have it checked out just to be sure.

I have more swelling on the left than the right. I have worse carpal tunnel in the right wrist than the left wrist tho...lol
