my doc told me during a terrible cold/flu that I could take Tylenol "till the cows come home" - perfectly safe. Used it for fever reducer/pain. The only thing my doc said I should take for cold symptoms was Sudafed. So if Tylenol cold contains the same Active Ingredient as Sudafed, I don't see why it wouldn't be safe. Don't know about the PM. What is the Active Ingredient in the PM formula? |

I am 11 weeks today and just happened to stuble across this website looking for a solution for all my bad headaches and and I feel so much better now about taking all this tylenol. This is my 3rd, but I never had headaches like these before, almost one or two every day! Two years ago I was diagnosed with viral menegitis and that was the main symptom and I have been freaking out that maybe I'm getting it again! Thanks for all the imput. |

Definately ask your doctor FIRST about the PM, Sinus, etc. Those have different ingredients in it that might not be suitable for pregnancy. Remember - what you ingest, your baby does too. What's circulating in your blood is circulating in baby's blood. Gosh that is such a long day for you, 12 hours. Is that including your commute? You should see about doing something to reduce your work hours. I think most pregnant women have trouble sleeping at night. I know I do. I'm lucky if I get a good 6 hours. I think it's God's plan preparing us for the future lack of sleep we're in for. But, yeah, ask your doc about those other Tylenols. How about taking a warm bath or shower before bed? Something to relax you. |

Tylenol PM just has benedryl in it - which is fine during pregnancy - I can't remember what is in Tylenol Sinus - but if it's pseudoephedrine, then that's ok, too. Of course, all in moderation. |

I am 12 weeks pregnant and have been suffering from severe morning sickeness and lack of sleep and my doctor gave me Unisom which has worked wonders. Not only does it help me sleep but has an anti-naseau component that helps my morning sickness. Worth a try! |

I am 39 weeks pregnant and have recently been in the hospital for several days due to a "pregnancy induced migrane" headache. I was told that I could take tylenol to relieve the pain and to follow the dosage on the bottle. After having bloodwork done the doctor's told me that I no longer could take tylenol because my liver enzymes were very low which means the tylenol had been affecting my liver. My advice to all mothers to be is if you can manage without OTC medication to do it because you don't want to end up with a problem in your liver. |

is it safe to take extra strength tylenol or just palin tylenol |

Your doctor should be telling you this. My doctor told me what was ok and not ok at my first visit. If they aren't telling you this you need to ask. If they don't give you an answer you should consider another doctor. Any Tylenol product is safe to take durning pregnacy. You can take 2 extra strength Tylenol every six hours if you need to. |

Check with your Dr. on how many mg. you can take. I asked mine if Tylenol 8 hour was ok and he told me to only take one at a time because the mg. was high. |

to Brittney, I am also a smoker, but when I got pregnant with my son I went cold turkey I know it sounds bad and you will be having bad withdrawls. but i saw a study where they took a 5 month pregnant mom and was doing a sonogram while she inhaled a cigarette and each time she inhaled the babys heart stopped for the time she inhaled. i also have a sleeping disorder and i just deal with it that is why i am on the computer at 3 am. and for some of the ladies saying since their Dr. said it is okay to take certain drugs does not mean it is okay for all, i have been in the healthcare for 12 yrs and all Dr.'s do not agree so ask your dr personally, I am also 4 weeks pregnant and went cold turkey on smoking again, you can do it. Just think of it as you are not giving your child a chance to decide it they want to smoke or not let them make that decision when they are an adult |

I know how you feel because I am bipolar with no meds, 14 weeks pregnant and staying up 5 nights in a row. Good luck! |
