i have been on zantac because of the stomach acids...but i also threw up a lot and it seemed to help a bit with that..do tums work for you?? i would talk with your doc if it is bothersome.

I have the same issue. I feel fine all day then as soon as I lie down for bed I feel horrible. Then I toss for an hour it goes away and I can finally sleep. While my husband hits the pillow and is snoring within 1 min. I just want to be able to sleep!!!!

somebody wrote in about eating almonds. I tried it and it really does work! My stomach felt normal after eating them!

I have had terrible heartburn lately. At first I was able to get rid of it with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and water, but now that isn't working. Tums do not work for me and neither does zantac 75. Once I get in bed it gets really painful. I'm trying to cut out all foods with yeast now and see if that helps. I hope you're feeling some relief.

I also have the same problem with acid reflux at night. It burns and goes up into my throat. I have to take Zantac 150mg. This dose is sold OTC and is actually the strenth doctors would prescribe before it went OTC. Nothing else works for me either. Zantac is a sanity saver for me. Good luck.

Other things you can do besides meds: Elevate the head of you bed about 6 inches, pillows do not truly work. You need to put bricks or something under the feet of your bed or buy a foam wedge that elevates half of you body from waist up. Another important thing is to eat your last meal at least 2-3 hours before going to bed. I suffer of Acid Reflux and these are some of the things you can do to alliviate night discomforts! Let me say it again, pillows are not a good idea as you need to elevate your body from the waist up not only from your neck/shoulder area. Good luck!

please gals, try eating almonds, and let me know what they do for you. I tried it, and it really worked! I was so amazed.

what kind of almonds?

I tried the gum chewing advise- and it really works. I also had a cup of milk too. :-))

I've tried tums, rolaids, and pepcid ac. Although the pepcid ac works most of them time it is often too late because I already am in pain from the heartburn by the time I take it and then it takes a bit to kick in. I have tried PAPAYA ENZYMES which are all natural and they actually taste pretty good. They can be found at any healthfood store. I take them after each time I eat and they really keep the acid at bay. Once in a while I still need to take a pepcid ac. Hope this helps!!

Oh crap, I get it just about every night. Sometimes I feel it coming on in the late afternoon before I start making dinner, and it doesn't make making dinner a joy, either. I still eat, but i dread the after effects. I don't remember this happening with my first pregnancy years ago until I was just about due. I've felt it since about 17 weeks. What do I do about it? Well, I've tried several things, or more. Dr. told me to chew some Tums, says they're good for me too since they provide calcium (and lots of it!), I drink a cup or two of cold milk, I try not to over eat, I've eliminated raw tomatos and onions, watermelon seemingly makes it better, one lady said to eat 4 or 5 almonds and that miraculously made me feel completely normal again, I cut out sunny side up eggs, and recently I've read about Papaya tablets. Haven't tried them, but I've used them in the past, they taste really good too, so I'm going to get some just to give it a whirl. Good luck with yours and let us know if you find a good trick to get rid of it. The silver lining to this cloud is that is goes away completely after you have your baby!
