does anyone have any experience of being told there baby has a vsd or pericardial effusion? i am finding it very hard to get any information about this any advice welcome

my son had a ventricular septal defect, its not normally diagnosed until after baby is born because its normal for the 'flap' of the ventrical to be open. it usually closes during or shortly after delvery. both conditions u mentioned are easily controlled and usually heal themselves. Medicines like digoxin along with dirutics can be used if baby has alot of fluid in the lungs but can also be managed by restricting feeds, baby may be put on high energy medical milk so needs only small amounts.
