GloriaD-I am SO sorry to hear about your ordeal. At least you got things under control. Did the drs give you something to stop the problem from happening again? I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes a lot smoother for you *HUGS*

JulieK - June 2nd, 2009 10:34 AM

Oh my goodness GloriaD! I am so glad everything is ok, that must have been very frightening. Did they give any indication as to how long the nausea will last? I hope you are feeling a bit more normal within a day or two.

As far as movement, I know it is early, but I have been feeling the flutterings since about week 12. I'm 16 weeks now. At first it wasn't everyday, but now most times I am still for more than a few minutes I feel something, especially in the evening. Seems to be this baby's active time then. I remember with my first I didn't feel anything until 19 weeks. My second it was 14 weeks.

Still no news on the chicken pox thing. I am guessing that if it is taking them this long to get me any results, that it can't be that big of a risk. Everytime I call to followup they say they haven't received the results yet, but not to worry. Still it would be nice to know.

Have a good day everyone!

Julie - I agree, if it was super urgent or critical the drs would get back to you. So I would go ahead and relax about it.

As for me I would like to vent for a second. I am feeling SO hormonal right now. Like so whiny and irrirated. I cant wait until I can be done working, I was in no mood for people at work today. Now I am waiting for DH to get home and I cant get ahold of him so that is really getting on my nerves. I wish I could be done working!!!!!! So anyways thanks for letting me vent.

How is everyone else doing?

gaer - June 3rd, 2009 4:33 PM

Ashley: I totally get the hormonal mood swings! Keep it in mind that it will pass... its all got to be worth it in the end. :)

Im so SO excited for the ultrasound tomorow. A little nervous too. We are taking my video cam to record, and I was told sometimes theyll give you a CD with a few pics.

My Panic Disorder is wreaking havoc this week, lots of heart palps and fears...I have avoidedtaking anything for it, which is good I think.
Im also really really tired again the last few days. Not sure if baby is having a growth spurt or if its related to the panic ... It sure seems like I pop out after a tired spell.

I still have a head ache almost daily but am migraine free for a week now. (yay) Still cant complain. Its really going pretty smoothly.

I hope everyone is enjoying weather, I know its sure beautiful out here!

JulieK - June 4th, 2009 10:59 AM

Yay, I am immune so no worries for the baby!

mm28 - June 4th, 2009 1:10 PM

Julie - that is fantastic news! Hopefully all goes smooth with the rest of your pregnancy.

I have been pretty hormonal too, just moody and tired ALL the time. It doesn't help that I'm up every 2 hours with my husband - he's recovering from surgery and wakes up throughout the night needing my help with something or other. We found out yesterday we are having twin girls (!), which I think will be adorable, however we keep getting rude comments like "I'm sorry" or "I bet your husband is upset", as if it is so terrible to have girls! I'm probably just being sensitive but it just seems unnecessary for people to be so negative.

JulieK - June 4th, 2009 7:29 PM

I can't believe people would have the nerve to say something like that! "I'm sorry" because they are girls? That's ridiculous. I'm sorry that people can be so ignorant.

gaer - June 4th, 2009 8:25 PM

I cant believe that either!

mm28 - June 5th, 2009 12:30 PM

Well, I'm feeling much better today. Must be all the hormones talking...:). I'm just going to ignore anybody that makes silly or ignorant comments from now on and focus on our little ones. Although if I hear one more comment about too bad the girls won't want to play/watch football with my (football-loving) husband, someone may get slugged!

On the plus side, one of my co-workers brought in 2 HUGE bags of maternity clothes for me that she no longer needs. It was totally unexpected and such a sweet gesture. I am popping out more and more daily that I may switch exclusively to maternity stuff.

How is everyone else doing?

GloriaD - June 6th, 2009 2:45 AM

I'm having a boy!!!!! Yeay! I had an ultrasound today and the baby kept flashing the technician so she said she couldn't ignore him! That will make our family perfect, 2 boys, 2 girls:) I really didn't care either way as long as its healthy I just didn't have a preference.
I spent the last week in and out of the hospital undergoing testing. I got a new OB, a perinatologist now that I really liked. I've been under general anesthesia, versed and some other yucky drugs and baby seems to be tolerating it all. The new dr. has been communicating with my cardiologist which is awesome so they have a game plan for my care. New medicines and a lot of scans in my future but pregnancy gets to continue. I am a bit relieved and feel so much more confident in my care these days. Gosh who would have ever thought this pregnancy would turn into such a challenge?
MM- people always have an opinion. They think perfect is two kids: a boy and a girl. In that order. nothing more/less/different or else they give their 2 cents. People give me crap all the time about "breeding" or before I knew it was a boy if we'd have a house of hormones and how unlucky my son would be. Wait a bit longer and everyone on earth will ask you if you plan to breastfeed and then give an hour lecture on why you should/shouldn't etc. Same with epidural vs. natural, midwife vs dr. etc. I swear its never ending!!! I think you eventually let it roll off your shoulders or you'd go insane! That's cool about the maternity clothes! My friend had given me some clothes to donate like a year ago and for some reason they were in the garage. I found them and I swear I felt like it was Christmas! They are all winter clothes but since I'm not due until the end of November I know I'll get some use out of them! I am in maternity completely now, its just so much more comfortable.
gaer- how did your ultrasound go?
Julie- Where are you? I'm asking because there has been a ton of chicken pox cases here. My boss didn't vaccinate his kids for anything and his son has chicken pox right now. Poor kid!

gaer - June 6th, 2009 11:22 AM

Ultrasound was good... there is ONE baby, and they actually put me LESS pregnant! They said they have no idea why my uterus is so big... The difference in due dates was only 4 days but still... I was expecting something more dramatic. Im kindof shocked.
Baby was too little (14wks 3days) so couldnt see gender. It jumped around a bit and I got 5 pics to bring home. I see my Dr monday, to see what he has to say. Go figure.
Sure made it more real seeing baby on screen. Last night I had my hand on my stomach and felt baby move on my hand!!! Very gentle, but I felt it! This tiny baby sure is making its presense known!

gaer - June 6th, 2009 11:29 AM

Gloria: I too have heard the comments about "breeding" .. my friend has 4 kids and some people we know were constantly asking her why she would keep breeding, doesnt she know it causes children?! Nasty!!

Im not too sure about the vaccines, the more I hear about people getting sick and passing it around, the more I think we should get them. My oldest daughter had a severe reaction to the MMR shot, and I never vaccinated my second child. I spoke to my Naturepath and he also reccommended I dont, but Im on the fence now... its kindof an obligation to society isnt it? Theres so many studies, one says its harmless, one says they are linked to autism, another says the vaccines are loaded with carcinagens (sp?) ... babay's father said its my call. Guess I have time to figure it out.

GloriaD - June 6th, 2009 4:11 PM

People are so funny, so judgemental of others. When I had my first child everyone hounded me as to when we were gonna have another but once we had two it all changed and people think we're stupid and don't know how the babies get here!!! Then as he got older there is just so many things that divide people. I didn't know things would get so technical!
Gaer- The vaccinations do scare me. I actually waited to do the MMR shot until they were 2 just because its a scary thing. Ava will get hers on June 24th and I'm so dreading it right now:( I have a lady I work with that her daughter had a reaction to an immunization. So much so that she was in the hospital for over a month. I know it was an awful experience but then I think of all the people I know that have vaccinated without issue....... I figure that yeah I don't like them but one day it may save their life. Especially because so many people emigrate to the US and I'd hate for my kids to get exposed... I don't know its a tough call. You definitely need to be okay with your decision and that is all that matters:)
The ultrasound really brightened up my pregnancy too! It made it so real and actually brought a light into my very hard pregnancy. I haven't felt baby move yet but I'm sure it'll be soon:)

NUMOMMY2BE - June 10th, 2009 5:25 PM
