The pups rash affected me 5 days before I delivered my son. I was POLLUTED! It began on my hands and soon spread up my arms, down my legs, on my chest, and finally on my back! My doctor said that I had one of the worst case scenarios that he had witnessed. While in the hospital, many nurses were coming in to see my "outbreak!" They tried different medications to help relieve my itchy feeling. Finally, the doctor suggested steriods, I declined. The rash continued, but slowly disappeared following the weeks after delivery. I think finally 3 months later, I was cured! My suggestion is to talk to your doctor, he or she may suggest something that can help relieve the temporary itchiness. Hand in there!

I feel for you. I had the same thing with my first child. It didn't begin until I was 7.5 months. Now, pregnant again, here we go one more time! I have it on the tops of my hands, 4-arms, shins, ankles and the new area, the bottom of my feet. It is truly terrible. I have tried EVERY cream on the market and nothing helps. All the doctors I have spoken with tell me the same thing. Only child birth will rid this rash. Great! I have 7 MONTHS TO GO!!! I wouldn't wish this on anyone.....I'm VERY sorry you have to go through this. Hang in there Ella.

I am 25 weeks pregnant and I have these very ichy bumps all over my stomach and sides. My doctor told me it was PUPS. She told me to ask the pharmacist for a lotion called "Sarna." I used it this morning and it does relieve the itch for a few hours. It made my skin feel very cool. I do recommend trying it! It also says its good for sunburns. Good luck girls!! We'll just have to keep hanging in there!!!

This pregnancy rash can be cured by a steroid cream you can recieve from your doctor. I am 30 weeks pregnant and had the same thing. It was horrible! Ask your doctor for either the steroid cream (to apply twice a day) or for a celestone shot. Will clear it up in 2 days.

I am 17 weeks and I have a rash pretty much everywhere. It's on my arms, legs, stomach, butt and chest. It itches like crazy. I have been to so many doctors, one told me that it was just part of being pregnant, the other that I was having a allergic reaction to something, then she told me it was scabbies. my primary care doctor told me that it was eczema. I was finally told that it was a rash that some pregnant women get and given some medicine to help. Does anyone know any other way of getting rid of it ot helping with the itch?

I have this rash all over me! It's horrible. My doctor recommended Cetaphyil Cream...it works for a couple hours. I just keep putting it on every 3-4 hours or so. Are the steroid shots safe?

I am 34 weeks pregnant and i too have these wierd rash which my doctor said is called PUPS. He gave me 2 different oral medications one for the itch and another which i think is like and anti biotic. The pill for the itch has worked okay so far but i have only been on that for a day. I totally understand you other women and nobody understand us if they have not been through it. Everyone tells me dont itch, dont think about it, like that is so easy. I want to rip my skin off it is so bad and no matter how hard i scratch it is not hard enough. And the harder i scratch the more i am hurting myself. I dont know if i can take it much longer i feel bad for the women who got it earlier in pregnancy. Take lots of oatmeal baths and ask your doctor for the itching pill. Good luck to everyone

I had PUPS rash with my twins. It started at 37 weeks and get spreading. BY the time I delivered one week later, it covered my entire body in red welts. It was even between my fingers and toes. It was the worse thing I've experienced. They finally gave me steroids to get rid of it. The itching calmed down but the rash took over a month to go away. I"m 4 months pregnant now and so scared of getting it again. Topical creams did nothing for me.

I am now in week 7 of having this AWFUL rash. I am so relieved to know that I am not the only one with this terrible annoyance. I was given a steroid by my OB wich helped for a short time. But it seems it came back even worse. I went to see my Family Physician and he said it was Fifth disease. Whatever it is, I hope it leaves soon.
