Weird Rash Help!!

I was diagnosed with PUPPPS at 39 weeks and ive been miserable. i cant sleep because im constantly itching and itching. The itch is insatiable. It started on my belly over these horrible stretch marks and spread to pretty much every area of my body. My feet and hands seem to bug me the most though. The only thing that has worked for me to keep me sane is going into the shower, wetting myself down, then rubbing baking soda into the rashy sections. it will sting a little but it feels so good. then rinse off. After i dry off i put tea tree oil on the rash. Its smelly but it really soothes my skin. Im itch free and very comfy for 2-3 hours. then i have to repeat the process. i hope this info is helpful to anyone dealing with this nasty nasty rash. this is what works for me and it makes me feel good knowing that i am getting relief naturally with medications that im afraid could hurt my baby. |

YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I AM NOW 16 WEEKS PREGNANT WITH MY SECOND CHILD. I STATRTED TO GET A BUMBY ITCHY RASH ON MY ARMS AND LEGS IN MY 12TH WEEK JUST LIKE YOU ARE DESCRIBING. MY PRIMARY WASN'T ANY HELP AS IT SPEAD MORE ON MY LIMBS, MY OB SAID IT DIDN'T LOOK LIKE PUPPS, BECAUSE IT USUALLY STARTS ON THE STOMACH. I EVEN TOOK MY SELF TO THE ER BECAUSE IT TURNED BRIGHT PINK AND COVERED MY ARMS AND MOST OF MY LEGS. I WAS VERY ITCHY AND UNCOMFORTABLE. THEY DIDN'T KNOW AND RECOMMENDED TO SEE A DERMATOLOGIST. I COULDN'T WAIT, I WAS TRYING EVERYTHING SAFE TO TAKE OVER THE COUNTER AND NOTHING WAS HELPING. THE DERMATOLOGIST WAS NO HELP, THEY DON'T THINK ITS PUPPS EITHER THEY GAVE ME A TOPICAL STEROID CREAM THAT IS NOT HELPING THE ITCHYNESS AS IT IS SPREADING NOW TO MY FEET, HANDS, BELLY AND CHEST. I AM IN CONTACT WITH THEM ALMOST DAILY ASKING FOR MORE RELEIF AND SUGGESTIONS. BE PERSISTANT. I BELEIVE IT IS RELATIVE TO THIS PREGNANCY AND PUPPS CAN START IN EARLY WEEKS OF PREGNANCY. MAKE A DERMATOLOGIST APPOINTMENT AS SOON AS YOU CAN AND GO FROM THERE. IN THE MEAN TIME TAKE COOL SHOWERS AND MOISTURIZE AT LEAST 2 X A DAY AS IT WILL START TO DRY OUT. I WISH YOU LUCK. |

I have a rash as well and NOTHING seems to make it go away. Mine is on my face like all around my nose. It is itchy and very frustrating. I will ask the doc about it when I go in on Thursday. |

I spoke with a nutritionist who is currently pregnant with her second child. She says that it is the fetus pulling Essential Fatty Acids (EFA's) out of your skin to build its brain and nervous system. She reccommends taking 5 1,000mg capusles of fish oil a day to supplement this need, saying it will releive the itching and make baby smarter too since it will have all the EFA's it needs to build a good brain. She says she did this all through her first pregnancy and everything was fine and her baby's very smart for his age. |

i agree with the diaper rash cream, i actually use lotrimin because i had a nasty rash between and under my boobs and i went to my doctor and she said it was a yeast infection and i needed to get something antifungal, i had tried everything but that and it all made it worse, but now its clearing up nicely |

I had PUPPS with my son. I got it at about 35 weeks and it so was bad that I was put on steriods. I am 36.5 weeks now with my second and even though they say it can't return it's back. I am covered. It is the worst thing. Try oatmeal baths and anti itch sprays. If it doesn't improve see a dermatologist, they can normally help. |
