If you got your period after you had sex that you can't be pregnant. Getting your period means the egg passed through and was discarded.

what if it wasn't even close to a normal period though. my periods are always at least 6 days and heavy, this was the opposite, barely lasting 3 days and very light, i only had to use one tampon and the blood was brownish in color, does this still mean i am not pregnant?!?!?!

Did this even light period occur as scheduled?
It's possible this was not a period but pregnancy spotting, and the brownish color would concern me.
Have you taken any tests? Normally it should be taken 5 days after you miss your period (some claim 3), and should be with the morning urine. You may want to take a test but I'd say a visit to the OBGYN is probably a good idea just to make sure.

Those tests are pretty accurate as they measure HCG. My concern with your discharge though is that you may have have been pregnant and had a spontaneous abortion (aka miscarriage). I hope not, but it's entirely possible
Many women have them and don't even know it when it's early, and this is why I'd recommend a visit to the OBGYN.

I was on antibotics for seven days. It was Keflex and I am currently taking birth control pills. My last cycle started April 20th and we had sex on May 1st. What are the chances that I might be pregnant? When is the soonest I can take a pregnancy test? I have bought one and it says it can be detected 4 days before my next period.

you can go online and some sites have an 'ovulation calendar' you can put in the first day of your last period and it will tell you when you are/were most fertile.

Also, brownish discharge should not be a concern- unless you don't want to be pregnant. It's just spotting- that sometimes occurs when the fertilized egg is implanting to your uterus.

Hi Nik,I bought a pregnancy test for myself today & it says that it can be used as early as 7-10 days after the date of conception,if date is known, but make sure you read the box of the 1 you buy as they vary. Good luck!
