I'm not sure, i do know that it can make you have side effects which are similar to pregnancy symptoms. My injection also stopped my period so that combined with all of these side effects made me think i was pregnant. I wasn't. I'm sure it's about 98% effective which means two women our of one hundred will get pregnant. If you're really worried then use a condom too.

It has been said that taking depo you can be infertile for a staggering 18 months. I personally never read the percentage of failure with this from of BC but its proven to mess up your cycles real good.
