My husband loves it when I cook but I don't really know any good recipes...anyway Im 9 weeks pregnant and Im gonna make him eat healthy stuff since I have to lol anyone have any good easy recipes that they wanna share?

Hi Heather - try out Modern Menus (w w w . modernmenus . c o m) - take out the spaces. They have recipes, a weekly menu written by a nutritionist, grocery lists, and everything - all for free! I use it all the time. Good luck!

Heather - some good substitues for old favorites - Whole wheat pasta for regular - 2% cheese instead of regular - you won't really be missing out on flavor but just empty calories and extra fat. What are some of your likes? I would be happy to give you some recipes! I love love love to cook and I haven't gained any weight so far not sure if that is a result of healthy cooking or just nausea.

Well what about a meatloaf or something...its not extremely healthy but you can do it how I make it...for every 1 pound of meat (I'm sure you can replace it with some ground turkey or something to make it healthy) add 1 egg and 1 can of tomato sauce. Cut some onions, carrots and celery and crackers (you can always do crackers that aren't salted and have lower sodium or something) and mix it together...throw it in the oven on 425 for about 45 minutes. Then boil some corn on the cob, green beans and or make a nice mixed veggie over rice and eat it like that. I don't know if that helps at all, but its a fun one I like

Ok here is one that meets almost all of the food groups - it's called mexican pizza and it's delicious -
I pckg of corn bread mix made according to directions in 8x8 pan or skillet (you can bake it in a cast iron skillet) cook until almost done then top with the following

1 pounds of ground beef flavored with taco seasoning
1 cup of salsa any kind
fresh tomatoes
1 1/2 cup of cheese or to taste
black olives and cilantro for garnish

and then bake until cheese is melted - slice and serve topped with sour cream - it's a delicious all in one kind of meal my husband eats 1/2 the skillet's worth

My easy go to dinner on a busy weeknight - chicken teriayki stir fry- super easy - adjust chicken to amount of people recipe is for family of 4. cook 1 pound of chicken strips in canola or olive oil over med high heat flavor it with garlic powder, salt and pepper - add frozen stir fry veggies and cook, in a steamer or stove top cook 2 cups of brown rice (get this going first it takes 45 mins or buy instant brown rice) line your bowl with cooked brown rice top with chicken/veggie stir fry and top with additional teriakyi if needed - or soy sauce it's yummy - cooking is great you can eyeball it - if you cook for 2 then only use 1 cup of brown rice - and 1/2 pound of chicken strips I juts eyeball the veggies.

Chicken or tuna casserole - 1/2 pounds cooked spiral whole wheat pasta - 1 can cream of chicken 1 can cream of celery 1 1/2 cans of milk, 1 jar of sliced mushrooms, sm bag frozen broccoli florets cooked in microwave 1 package 2% kraft cheese 1 can of chicken or tuna which ever you prefer- cook the pasta empty the water and put pasta back in the pot add cans of soup and milk mix over medium heat add all other ingredients (cook the broccoli first) this recipe is great because by cooking all the ingredients you just throw it in the pot and serve it up no need to bake it you can crumble crackers on top of it before you serve it!

I have a great chicken recipe that is really easy. I call it Chicken on the Ritz. You cook your chicken (I do about 3-4 chicken breasts because I like the leftovers). I cut the chicken into cubes for easier cooking and makes bite sizes already. Once the chicken is cooked combine one can of cream of chicken soup and 2-3 cups of sour cream. Mix the chicken, soup and sour cream together in a baking dish. Place in the oven at 375 for 15 min. Add crushed ritz crackers to the top and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes. I serve with rice or noodles.

When I make meatloaf I use the lipton onion mix with two eggs, some worshishire sauce, salt and pepper and bread crumbs you can buy at the store. Then I lay half of the mixture in the meatloaf pan, lay provolone cheese and a few slices of proscuitto ham from the deli and then lay the rest of the meat down atop it. Spread some ketchup on top and cook it uncocered for about an hour!

I also like cream of borccoli or cream of mushroom chicken. Just cook soem chicken breasts, warm some of your prefferd cream of whatever in a pan, make some white rice and then lay the cooke dchicken atop the rice and drizzle it with the soup. Throw some veggies and bread on the side and ta-da!
