It is uncommon , but not unknown for a women to have a period while pregnant. Some women have been known to have what was like a period throughout there pregnancy, more common in first trimester. Most women do not have a period and can consider themselves not pregnant once a period begins for that cycle.

Some sources say that one in four pregnancies has some kind of bleeding at period time during the first trimester. It is usually lighter than a regular period.
