I have been on the same pill for 7 years now and I am not always great about taking it the same time everyday. For the last few months I have felt strange. I was convinced that I was pregnant in Feb or March but took a home test that came back negative, so I stopped thinking about it. I have been having my periods every month but they have been getting lighter & lighter (last month it was barely anything & lasted one day). I have very mild cramping almost everyday, no typical morning sickness (aside from occasional dizziness) but have had a lot of diarrhea (sorry tmi). And I have noticed a lot of watery discharge, like my panties are always damp (sorry tmi, again!). My emotions are out of control! Everything makes me cry.......songs, commercials, EVERYTHING! I also have been becoming angry about things that normally wouldn't bother me. I don't remember becoming so enraged about stupid thing since puberty! I bought another test to take tomorrow morning (which just happens to be my 2 year wedding anniversary), but I feel a little silly about it since I have been having periods, my husband says I am paranoid! I am also very worried that if I have been pregnant this whole time the baby might be harmed because I have continued to take the birth control pills. Has this happened to anyone?

Hi, It is possible to get pregnant on the pill but not probable. If you are really concerned I think you should ask your doctor for a blood test. Then you could put your mind at east. I have been on the pill for 10 years and all the symptoms you have described came on a couple of years ago just because my body was changing. But listen to your intuion and get a blood test. good luck!!!!

I was amazed to find out how many women have gotten pregnant on the pill. I had found a website when I had the same concerns as you. Some swore they took it faithfully and still got preg, while others got preg while on antibiotics and the pill. Also, I still want to now if being on the pill would cause you to have a neg test. I have heard it both ways. I have also heard that if you are pregnant and don't know and still take the pill it shouldn't harm the baby, but I never figured out how long that can go on for. Good Luck.

I have been on bc for 7 years and my current for 5. I am now 13wks 3days. I missed my period the end of April which is common on the pill I wasn't going to test b/c I felt fine. My Mom convinced me to test and it was pos. right away. I went to the Dr May 17th and she informed me that I was 11wks not 8wks. So I had my pd the end of March and was already pg.

My friend actually was on the pill and got pregnant. She later found out it was because of antibiotics she had taken. She came to my house thinking she may be pregnant after some weird periods. We went and bought her a tests and it was positive. She was 3 months along before she found out. Scary thing is she continued to take the pill those 3 months. She had went to a concert and drank ALOT of alcohol and smoked cigs. She was actually drinking alot since she was in college. Once she found out-----she stopped all that. The baby was born and had a couple problems with breathing and had to stay in ICU for two weeks but came out ok. He is not healthy and a total cutie. The docs said it wasn't her actions that caused his breathing problems either. But never know. She did get a positive on home test though at 3 months. Good Luck.
