So, my situation is a little different than most of yours...
I've had my mirena for a little over a year, no bleeding since the 5th month I've had it. My bf and I are half way through college and we're extra safe. We use condoms 95% of the time and the other 5% is without, but even then he pulls out and has never released inside of me.
About 2 weeks ago I had an icreasing pain in my left side where my ovary is. It was a really uncomfortable pressure that turned to a pain but went away like 30 mins later. A week later I had the same pressure, but this time it was on my right side and wasn't so painful. It only lasted a minute. I realized that ever since the 1st time, my boobs had been extra sore and tender. It hurt when I was taking my bra off or putting it on, showering, changing, and my nipples were hard constantly! I thought I might have ovarian cysts, but then I started reading up on tubal pregnancies, which are common with IUDs (great, right?). I was doing reasearch and found this site and read a lot about pregnancy symptoms and Mirena. I don't bleed anymore (havn't for a while) but I still get cramping and moodiness just as I would if I was on my period. It always comes on the 20th and i have PMS the week before, but I started feeling all of this 2 weeks before my supposed "period". I went to see the Gyno on campus and they did a urine pregnancy test. It was negative. But then I started thinking "it's a week+ before my period, how would they be able to tell if I was already?" The last time we started to have sex without a condom was a month ago, but he didn't finish inside of me. The next time, we started without one but then put one on half way through to finish, which was 2 weeks ago, the day before I felt the 1st pain.
I'm so confused. I've never been pregnant before so I have no idea what to expect. It is now the week before my "period" (20th) and I'm having pretty bad cramping. Could this just be PMS? And if so, why would I have all these other symptoms AND why would it be 2 weeks before my period? We're both scared because we're young and in the middle of getting our degrees. We still have a lot of schooling ahead of us (but he's 2 yrs older).
Help! :/
