Question RE The Pill And Ovulating

Hello again ladies. It's been a long time! I just want you to know that my daughter is great. She's 10 months old and doing great. 26lb and 31 inches. She does not get her height from her me lol. Anyway, since she was 10.5lbs when she was born and did a lot of damage on the way out, I'm not in a big hurry to have another. I'm on the pill, but I don't take it at the same time every day and I will admit I do miss quite a few of them some months.

My question is this. This month, I have only missed one pill at the beginning to let my period last a little longer and two days ago, I had cramps for about an hour and then had a lot of EWCM which is funny because I never had that when we were TTC. I did a good ol cervix check and it was low and opened and I was wondering if that's supposed to happen while on the pill. If not, then I may be in trouble lol.

I put this question in this section because for a long time, these ladies here were my family and my support while TTC and they know a lot about everything that is ovulating and ttc.

Anyway, any help would be much appreciated!

Hi Teddy, congrats on your lil one. A 10 pounder too! Holy smokes...how are you still in one piece?!

I'm afraid this forum isn't quite what it once was, most of the old crew have left and the traffic is pretty light in here now. I'm 16 weeks pregnant and hang around to stay in touch with two of the other girls but that's about it.

I wouldn't have thought missing one day would cause you to ovulate but it must happen occasionally because I know people who've gotten pregnant on the pill. Sounds like you're in the waiting game for the next few weeks! Good luck either way!

All forms of birth control have a small failure rate, including birth control. Missing one pill is unlikely to cause you to ovulate though, but it does increase the chance a bit. Your cervix will change throughtout your cycle and although a low and open cervix could indicate ovulation it don't always mean you are ovulating. Definately take a test if you miss a period, but you are probably fine.
