Hello lovely ladies! :)

I just started TTC and have charted my cycles for a few months. Although at first I had no concern about my short cycle (25-26 days), I have now started to learn that I SHOULD be concerned that I ‘O’ late within this short cycle. Typically I ‘O’ at CD16 or CD 17, so my luteal phase is 9-10 days, best. Most consider this not enough time for the uterine lining to build up and for the egg to implant properly.

I’ve been reading about vitamin B6 and B complex as a supplement (in addition to what is in the prenatals) and am wondering if this has helped lengthen the luteal phase for anyone out there and when you saw results? Any success stories or women dealing with this?? I’d love to hear from you!

I was very shocked to learn I had any fertility concerns TTC#2, as with my first we got pregnant on our first try :-O
Good thing I’m not in a rush, yet!

I have had fertility issues in the past, although a short luteal phase was not one of my issue, I read so much about fertility that I also read alot about the luteal phase. I wouldn't be too concerned just yet. How long have you been trying? If you just started there is no way to tell if this will affect your ability to concieve yet. I think adding B6 supplement would be a good idea. I have also read it helps to promote a longer Luteal Phase. It couldn't hurt. If I remember right most sites says that 10 days is long enough...anyway you are right on the border of maybe having a issue. Good Luck!

Hi Kimberly,

Thanks for your post. I’ve been trying for only a couple of months, but both times I had a chemical pregnancy/ verrry early loss. However, I did keep track of my cycle for a few months prior to TTC and noticed the 9-10 day luteal phase. So, I’ve linked the two.
I am starting the B6 this cycle. Just as you said, I figure it can’t hurt and shouldn’t have any side effects with the dose I’m taking. I’m just curious to see what others have done and what worked, etc. Thanks for your input! :)

Hipchick, you should also read about Vitex, it helps lenghten the Luteul Phase too.

Well, I wanted to follow up on my original post and say that after taking vitamin B6 (100mg) for ONE cycle, I now have my BFP! So, if any of you ladies have discovered you also have too short of a time between ovulation and AF, try it! Worked for me :-) Well, OK so this wasn’t exactly a scientific study, but it can’t hurt!!!
