I took a dollar store hpt 8 days before I was supposed to have my period (it was positive). I thought I might have been pregnant from the month before and it was just now showing up but today I went to the doctor and by the ultrasound they said I am 4 weeks and 2 days. Is there anyway the hormone was extra strong because I am having twins-it runs in my family-any help?

Wouldn't they have seen 2 sacs on the ultrasound?

I dont know they didnt do a vaginal ultrasound and the gestational sac where the baby is was just a little dot on the screen maybe it was not far enough along.

if you are having identical twins you will only see 1 sack not 2. good luck and congratulations

No, when I was pregnant last year with twins there were two sacs. It depends on what kind of twins your having.

i was pregnant with twins and had a m/c in april...but the only way they could see both sacs was to do a vaginal u/s...the thing that tipped off them was that my hcg levels were double what they should have been, especially with the bleeding i was getting, the docs were expecting my hcg to be extra low. good luck emily!

Jue, actually that is a misconception. Even identical twins have separete sacs. Monoamniotic (twins in one sac) twins is a rare and "bad" condition! They tangle and constrict each other's cords. Rarely do both twins live in that situation.-----Emily, don't get me wrong, I don't mean to scare you! It doesn't sound like your situation. However, I believe they can usually identify twins on an US quite early on. Ask you doctor if you'd be far enough along to have identified twins. He/she will no doubt have the answer for you!
