Ok, I have been diagnosed with pcos, told by doctor that I couldn't get pg, and if so it would be a miracle... whatever...anyhow, well, I am 13 days late and still no period, I have been cramping, but nothing, I have a clear fluid-unsure from what or why??? And I have noticed that my back has been killing me this past week as if I was going into labor??? Even as I sleep my lower back is hurting badly.. :( I have really heavy and sensitive breasts, and I even have dark spots on my nipples like I used to have when I breastfed my other 3 children- ages 11, 9 and 7- when I wouldn't breast feed them and the milk would dry up-but I have no breast milk??? I am super moody as if I am going to start my period but no period...really confused...Doctor won't give me pg test because like he said "PCOS can't be pg!" Last month I was a week late, could this mean that I will be 2 weeks late this month and just wait till the 15th and then take a home pg test? The waiting and the anticipation is terrible you know?! Because I want to know now and I can't last month I didn't go through anything new, just the tender boobs and cramping and had my period 6 days late, but this month, I have all these issues and my most over reacting moodiness which I understand moodswings happen, I suffer from them all the time, but my overly sensitive and heavy breasts cloud my thoughts you know?...My fiance believes I am but I don't even know how to beging to explain to him my diagnostics of the doctor's disbelief in pg.... :( Your advise is greatly appreciated...I look forward to hearing from you!!!

Hi trying, if you have sore breasts as well as some other symptoms you may be. Your doctor should be ashamed to not even want to test you just because you have PCOS... women with PCOS CAN get pregnant, some even without fertility treatment... it's just more difficult because there are so many odds against you. I, myself, have PCOS... so does my mother (and obviously I am here) and my bestfriend (who has two beautiful children). Don't give up! Trust your body, and trust your instincts. If it turns out that you are not pregnant, you should still continue to pursue medical assistance to find out what could be going on.

Babydust!

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis but I totally agree with boosmommy, your doctor should be more encouraging. I don't know much about PCOS but I was told by 3 different fertility doctors that IVF was our only option and now I am 17 weeks pregnant from just Clomid. So doctors can be wrong.
Having said that, have you had your prolactin levels checked? It could explain the breast issue. My friend had similar symptoms and was diagnosed with high prolactin, which is very easily treatable.

Ok thanks for your great advise...I guess the best thing to do is to just take a pg test a home one and see what it says, if it's neg then I will give it a try again next week if my period hasn't started yet...And if it comes out neg again I will then go see a doctor..this is so frustrating! LOL :( I feel like I'm caged up because I don't know what to believe...So many years now been told can't have any children and so to feel what I feel, it's as if I want to tell my body not to feel what it's feeling because I can't lol!!! So confusing...thanks everyone for your help..I know it seems crazy and all and I shouldn't even be like this because I have had 3 children before but still the problem is that when you make yourself believe that something won't happen and then it can or might makes you unsure of what to believe you know?! Thanks again, I will keep you all informed soon! Take care have a great day!

Good day I took a pg test this morning, it started out a very light positive and then several minutes later a very bright positive, I was like UHM? Confused...Anyhow, but I went to the bathroom right now and see yellowish pinkish fluid??? And my stomach is cramping, I am not sure what any of this means...WOW so confused...Thanks for your advise!!!

boosmommy - October 14th, 2009 1:16 PM

hello trying... there is a good chance if you got a light positive that you could be pregnant. Was the bright positive after the elapsed time for accurate test results? As for the fluid, sorry but I don't know. Maybe the pink is a tinge of blood in your urine that was passed? If you have a doctor, I would call their office. If you don't, try to find the number for an 'ask a nurse' and just make a general inquiry. I think it may be your amniotic fluid or either a little blood in urine. Hope all is well! Please keep us posted. And CONGRATS if you are indeed pregnant which it seems like you may be.

Hey, what are you confused about?! Sounds like a pretty definite positive. That says pregnant to me - congratulations!

tryingtounderstand - October 20th, 2009 9:28 AM

Good day well took a blood pg test from doctor, I had to literally make the woman give it to me, she's a gen phys because my ob wouldn't do it...SO she did order it and it came out pos...BUT I was told that since I still had a period last month even though it was on the 6th of sept and only lasted 5 very light days, I am only considered one week pg? Anyhow..I see ob this friday...Not sure of what to expect..I feel as if I may be 2 months now because I started having weirdness all around since last month esp since I had been over a week late and it was a really light period?! I never have light periods and lately I had been having them..I had them light in July, Aug and Sept...So it was kind of weird how in Aug I was also 7 days late, then sept 6 days late...Weird...Anyhow, hopefully I really am pg and it's not false stuff! Because I am cramping badly! Anyone had to go through this? I don't remember ever cramping when I was pg with my first 3 children??? Weird!!! I am like ok so does this mean I am not or am??? I cramp really bad and feels like whatever is inside is just going to fall out and it hurts and I am terrifed...Then my lower back hurts a lot...Seriously I don't remember any of this stuff...Your advise is appreciated. Thanks everyone for your help and concern! Have a great day!!! Oh and btw still haven't started period...so yeah...hopefully am pg...

nino3 - October 20th, 2009 10:35 AM

oh congratulations. You defuantely are pg. That fluid you got is just another sign of pregnancy. Implantation happens many different ways. Sometimes just fkuid and sometimes tinged with a bit of blood. As far as onkly being one week pg]]]] Welll, that cant be becuase youre pg test wouldnt have picked it up at all if this was so. Anyways good luck and stop stressing. Everything will be o.k.

Naomi98 - October 21st, 2009 3:30 AM

Congratulations! A positive is a positive :-) You'll know in your first scan how far along you are so at least then you can figure out whether all the symptoms add up. I hope your doctor has apologised to you!
Oh and I got cramps for 3 days before I tested positive. At first I didn't bother testing because i was sure af was coming any second. So yes cramping can be a pregnancy symptom!

tryingtounderstand - October 21st, 2009 9:22 AM

Thanks everyone for your great support! I have a question, because I keep cramping still! Is it normal for the cramping and the lower back aches?

nino3 - October 23rd, 2009 12:35 PM

Yes it is. I did with my first son. I also had a chemical pregnancy and those were the symptoms i had that made me test early. Good luck to you.

tryingtounderstand - October 26th, 2009 9:11 AM

Well I got my first ultrasound and it showed I am about 4 weeks pg on friday... On a 40 week term pregnancy I was told I am due the 2nd week of June...Does that sound correct?

I remember every pg that I had before I was always given 10 months or 40 weeks after finding out...And with what they are telling me at june I am only 8 months into the pregnancy??? I am super confused..I don't understand how these doctor's here work but I am completely lost...If it's based on the calculations from my previous doctor's my first 3 children I shouldn't be due till middle of July even close to the end of July??? If anyone has ever had this problem or could give some advise I would really appreciate it! Thanks and hope you all have a good day...

I am super excited and super sick-I feel like throwing up every morning, I am extremely exhausted out of nothing and take naps up to 2x a day, I barely sleep at night and have 3 kids to take care of and work to do mon-fri...the messed up thing is that I don't remember being this exhausted with my first 3 wow how different things are!!!

tryingtounderstand - October 26th, 2009 9:14 AM

Oh I forgot to add on top of that I am hungry all the time, anyone go through with this? How do you stop yourself? I am overweight I don't need to gain more weight...I was told no more than 10-15lbs how in the world am I going to stop this from happening when I am literally hungry all the time...Also I go to the bathroom so much it's irritating! I can't even have half a cup of water because not even 5 mins after I am going to the bathroom...I have an ultrasound in 2 weeks and I need a full bladder any advise??? Your help is greatly appreciated. Sorry it's been 7 years since I have had a baby and I am not kidding you I don't remember having to use the restoom so much and not being able to hold it at all, not to mention the extreme tiredness and the need to eat so much!!! :( So frustrated!!! Oh on top of that everything ticks me off or makes me cry I can't even watch a freaking commercial!! Is this all normal??? WOW!! So sorry to sound like a moron but I didn't go through any of this during previous pregnancies! It's so new I feel like a noob!!! And my breasts are so sore...man I am seriously frustrated!! My doctor hasn't been much help in talking to me about symptoms and my sufferings so I am sorry for the burden! Thanks to everyone again!!!

Naomi98 - October 27th, 2009 5:13 AM

Well it's official! Congratulations and a happy and healthy 9 months to you! Your June due date sounds right. It's usually calculated on 40 weeks from the first day of your last period. There are lots of due date calculators online you can use to be sure.

As for the hunger, I'm having that a lot now (I'm 18 weeks), eating us out of house and home lol! Anytime I let myself get too hungry I get headaches or feel ill. Healthy snacking is the way forward I reckon. I keep LOTS of bananas, yoghurts and cereal bars in the kitchen.
Maybe it's worth checking for a UTI for the constant peeing just in case? I don't really know what would cause that so early.
Anyways, hope your symptoms level out soon and you start to enjoy yourself! Good luck.
