Breech=cesarean?

I am so worried that my baby will not turn to the head down position in the next 2 weeks, my doctor says that if not that they can attempt to turn her, but he also mentioned just scheduling a cesarean I am so scared of having to recover from a cesarean by myself and take care of my baby too. Has anyone had this procedure done, and how well does it work? Did any of you have a cesarean alone? How difficult was it to recover and care for a newborn alone? Should I let them just schedule the cesarean or have them try to turn the baby first?
