when your child can talk and start asking questions and the father isn't around, what do you say to them? my lo is only 18 months but i'm thinking to the future and i don't really know what i'm going to tell her :(

I hesitate to reply to such a delicate question. Surely every answer you give must reinforce that you are giving double love to make up for the lack. Could you have a progression over the years that starts "Yeah, we need a daddy. Will you help me find one." Later "Yes, every baby starts with a daddy, but some of them are selfish and don't stick around." Finally "I thought your daddy and I were in love, but it turned out I was wrong, and I figured we would be better off without him."
