It probably is an evap. A pos after 10/15 mins is not reliable. I'll hope for you :-).

If you're breastfeeding you probably wouldn't have ovulated yet. If you aren't then the chances are higher but still. Even if you got a for-sure positive test I would say there's a good chance you aren't and you only got a positive test because of the hormones left in your system. The postpartum stage feels pretty much like being pregnant and you may get several pregnancy signs that just mean your hormones aren't leveled out yet. It is a good idea to test again, and even if the line is still there I'd suggest seeing a doctor to make sure it's the real deal. Good luck!

Oh yeah, my doctor said today if you are EXCLUSIVELY breastfeeding, there is only a 92% chance of pregnancy until the 1st yr.

wow teddy i,d say if your pregnant then its ment to be lol. obviously your life would be easier if you were not pregnant, and seeing you dont want to be pregnant, then lets hope your not pregnant lol

amanda: i'm pretty sure it doesn't take more than 3 months for your hormones to drop back to normal. also, i'm not breastfeeding at all and i've had 2 periods since i had the baby. aside from the lochia of course. the problem with my period this last time was that it was only 3 days and no tissue passed. i took a test tonight and i didn't see a line, but i should wait a week and not waste any more tests.

addy: i'm terrible, i haven't breastfed her pretty much since a week after she was born. after i was done with my antibiotics, i tried and she darn near tore the end of my nipple off. she was latched right, but she was so used to bottles she was sucking so hard it tore skin so i was done lol.

angel: i won't say that i wouldn't be happy, but i would much prefer to have one baby for now lol.

Well I dunno the exact time but you could be right. It takes like a year for all the other hormones to go away so I thought maybe 3 months they'd still be in your system.
With that new information I'd say that it was an evap line, it's normal for your periods to be wacky.

Teddy sometimes after you have a baby it is very easy to become pregnant again, even if you had trouble the first time. I hope I am not wrong but a line is a line. I know they say to not read the test after the alloted time frame and because of that you should retest but I have never seen any kind of line on a test and not been pregnant. Good luck!

Kimberly, there's something called an evap line which is a faint line on a pregnancy test that really doesn't mean anything. She said she tested again and didn't see a line at all so that pretty much confirms it. If she was pregnant the line would have been darker this time around even if it was only a day afterward.


Teddy, as I just reread your post I realized there was a question in it hahaha. I think that second test was right and unless you get severe pregnancy symptoms I don't think it's necessary to test again. One of my friends had a postpartum period that was 3 weeks late and wasn't pregnant so, be patient :)

wellll teddy never be to sure, my MIL thought the same thing they had a hard time getting pregnant! so after she had her son, which she was completel breastfeeding! she didnt think about it either and 11 months after the first one was born so was the second!!!

I know exactly what an evaporation line is, but I didn't read where she had taken another test and didn't see a line. I just never have gotten a evaporation line on any test and believe me I have took a bunch. I know that a true positve will have color to the line and a evaporation line has no color to it, but in my experience if I seen a line of any kind I was pregnant. I have 3.

ONLY a 92% chance? 92% chance is quite high.

I dont know amanda I always seem to find out i am pregnent very early on. I have taken test before got faint lines, retested came back negitive, then tested again and have recieved a deffinate possitve

You are VERY fertile after having a baby because your hormones are so out of wack, there is no telling when, if, and howmany times you willovulate in a month....same goes for after a miscarriage....Thats where Dante came from...Dante made it through a condom 1 week after having a miscarriage

I guess so DB, you'd think if her period was late and she's been having pregnancy signs it wouldn't be that early though... it might be I guess she didn't give us any dates. With your hormones doubling every day isn't it kinda weird to get a faint line, then no line and then be pregnant?


Alright Teddy I take back what I said. Just test again later so you can put it to rest hahaha.

I remember with my 2nd miscarriage pregnancy my ob did a urine test and she said it came back positive but you are barely pregnant...Im like wtf does that mean...lol she said it is when the line is so faint that you have to sqint to see it....I dont know how it works i just know how it was with me.

Dante i never did a home test. I just went to the dr as a follow up from my mc...the stupid dr didnt even tell me she was doing a urine test for pregnancy. I never in a million years thought i was pregnant...she bust open the exam room door and said all angry like "well it came back positive" I said "what did?" she said your "pregnancy test!!" I was like i have only had sex once and that was with protection!...so she did a us and found nothing, so she said it was prob still hormons lingering from the mc....I still didnt expect to be pregnant....3 days later i got a call at work from her telling me that my HCG levels came back and that i was expecting with very high healthy levels....I was in such shock that one of my good friends was in the middle of welding and i walked up, grabbed him and said I dont care if i ruined your weld i need to talk! he said okay followed me to sit down and then sat there for a hour and a half waiting for me to say something and i said NOTHING at all..lol....ahh the memories...i know none of that had anything to do with the post i was just reflecting and typing at the same time

omg amanda that is where i have got the word freaking from lol! i have been saying it the last fewe days and now i know why lol look back over the last week at any posy you have made and a majority of them have the freaking in them lol
