My boyfriend and I have never had intercourse, but we do "fool around" (oral sex, handjobs). We are always very cautious that none of his fluids get near my vulva or vagina, and we always wash our hands after we have finished. We also try not to do this while I am likely ovulating. We did not do any "fooling around" this month during my high probability ovulation days. Well, around the end of my 'likely ovulating' days, I had a few flecks of blood on a pantyliner. I dismissed it. However, the next day there was a spot the size of a quarter of fresh red blood on my pantyliner. I freaked. I thought maybe I was starting my period a week early, but it didn't come. I spotted some light brown for a day or so after this. My boyfriend and I have been majorly stressing over this; we're scared I could be pregnant. The due date for my period has passed, and I am now 4 days late if it doesn't come today. I haven't taken a test yet. I'm really scared. Do you think I'm pregnant? It's been like 3 weeks since we last fooled around. I have no symptoms of pregnancy like headaches, sore breasts, enlarged nipples, or anything. Please help!

Hey you need to calm down firstly there are so many things it could be. Firstly do a pregnancy test because i had the same things last year a little blood and then a spot and it turned out i was not pregnant. Some people do spot before and after there periods this is normal. Let me no how you get on xxx

I don't think you are pregnant. You seem well informed. When the follicle ruptures at ovulation there is sometimes a little spotting. Maybe you are psyching yourself into a late period. Good luck!

Thank you both. Still no period yet. It's six days late. Still not feeling any real pregnancy symptoms. I certainly don't feel pregnant. If my period doesn't come soon, I will try to get a test and see what's going on.

Stress, hormonal changes, exercise, changing eating habits, lack of sleep, all can cause a late period. Sounds like there wasn't much exposure, if any at all to sperm so I would say relax! The only way you could get pregnant without actually having sex is if he were to have precum or just ejaclated and then rubbed his penis on your vagina, or had it on his fingers and got it near your vagina. Seems you all are very careful, just remember if your fooling around ever does turn into real sex, use a condom.

Thank you. Before we begin having sex, we plan to get a doctor's appointment together and use birth control pills and condoms. I'm just trying to relax at this point and not stress myself out about it. It's still very scary, but I'm trying to be calm.

I tested today and am not pregnant! Yay! Thank you for your help. However, I haven't gotten my period yet, which makes me wonder what might be causing it. My periods are always very regular no matter how stressed I get. If you have any suggestions of what this might be, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks again!!

My period arrived today. I decided not to worry about why it's late. At least it came. Thank you all for your help and encouragment!!!
