Man things have been so slow on here lately. I guess everyone's been busy with their newborns. For those still on, how are things going? Baby updates, life updates, etc? Is anyone still preggo out there?
Ellie is 10.5 months now. She's walking (for the most part), she has two teeth (more like 1.5 haha), she's easing into table foods, she says "cat" "mama" "dada" "yeah" and "no" She can also read a few words like "cat" and "tiger." I'm giving all the credit to her talking and reading so early to the Your Baby Can Read DVDs... I had nothing to do with it hahaha. She can also wave, blow kisses, give kisses, give hugs and high fives. I'm already planning her birthday party. I made the invitations myself on the computer.. My sister has my printer so I can't print them out right now. They are really cute though! Her birthday party is on May 30th at my house. It's basically just a backyard party, about 45-50 people are coming (a lot more than I expected!) We're in the middle of purchasing a playground for the kids. Ellie likes to play with older kid playgrounds so we got something slightly too old for her but she'll enjoy it now and grow into it later... Plus it'll be fun for the older kids at the party. For the adults we have tons of games like air hockey, foosball, pool, video games... you name it. There's going to be tons of food too. Call me anal mom but I'm getting Ellie a fruit assortment instead of cake. I don't really want her having sugar until she's older. Anyway on her actual birthday (june 2nd) we're taking her to the aquarium. She LOVES to look at things and they have a place where you can touch certain kinds of fish... plus Harold has never been to one before so that'll be fun for all of us.
An update about me... Well the job is going great. I get along with everyone there and a few of the patients have told my boss that I'm doing really well so she's really proud of me. I told her she should give me a raise for compliments like that and she was like "yeeeeeeah..." hahaha. I'm also friends with one of the main women who work in the gift shop of the hospital (we're like right next to each other working) and she always gives me little things for Ellie from the gift shop. She pays for them herself and everything. So like every other week I'll come home with a little teddy bear or something for Ellie :) And hmm... what else... Oh, I cut my hair! It looks awesome :D For those of you who have me on myspace it's my default picture... and for those who don't it's myspace.com/2097699 :)

V are you still here? How'd things go with the "to move or not to move" situation?

angelmonkey - April 18th, 2009 2:05 PM

Heidi is doing great she is teething right now and we can just about see her top right tooth so she's pretty miserable the last few weeks.....im still breastfeeding which is going great........she goes to bed at 8 and sleeps until about 3 or 4 most nights and then every 2 1/2 hours after that which im currently trying to get her out of....she,s holding her head up great when i give her tummy time she holds her whole front body up with her arms for about 2 miniutes, she's smiling cooing more noticing things more, she's judt great she got weigher 2 1/12 weeks ago and weighed 10lbs and half an ounce she gets weighed agin monday....she's 10 weeks on sunday and is just great!........elli so cute i was looking at your pics she's just adorable and looks alot like her daddy.

amanda17 - April 18th, 2009 3:56 PM

That's good to hear! It sounds like Heidi is going to be an early crawler. Ellie didn't lift her front up during tummy time until she was about 5 or 6 months old, and she started crawling at 8. And Heidi is good sleeper! I'm glad she's doing well.

angelmonkey - April 18th, 2009 4:09 PM

ooo i cant imagine my little baby crwaling lol! she like holds her front up on her elbows kinda like from the elbow to her wrists she holds her delf up on that bit she holds her head real high while she's doing it and also lifts her chest and then runs out of energy after a miniute or so later lol.........i cant beleive how fast its going its so scary! she had her first injections 2 weeks ago and it was awful! she screamed and i started crying! it broke my heart! im not sure i want to go in next time but i dont want her to be without me when she.s upset! she's quite a good baby although the last 3 weeks have been hard as she just seems to cry all the time because of her teeth! i,ve tried putting her dummys in the fridge so that they cool her gums which help for a little while........she's not a good sleeper during the day she will scream and cry herself to sleep most times.....she gets sooo tired but just refuses to go to sleep, she's fine if we take her out in her pram or put her in her chair but i dont want her to just be able to sleep while on the move as i want to be able to settle her in her cot for naps during the day

Yeah I hate taking Ellie to get her shots. I think she only has one more though so I'm thankful for that. You just feel like a horrible person doing it but it's good for them. Ellie was a pretty good teether, I didn't notice anything until she was chewing on my finger one day and I thought she had a crumb or something in her mouth so I tried to take it out and realized it was a tooth hahaha. You can try giving her teething tablets or gel. They numb her teeth so she can go back to her old self.

angelmonkey - April 18th, 2009 10:26 PM

yea i,ve looked in to that but she's too young for anything over here, she has to be atleast 3 months so im guessing she's a real early teether. she has these like dummy things with like a gum sheild thing that fits on hers gums so she can bite down and you put it in the fridge but she just trys to suck them as i put her dummy/pacifier? in the fringe instead and she's aloud infant calpol but i dont really like giving it to her i just give it whne she'e real real bad, i dont want her to dosed up all the time, someone told me of some herbal syuff you can get like some powder you rub on there gums that numbs it so im going to look in to that...aww thats cute how many teeth does she have now? so was she just her normal self while teething?

amanda17 - April 18th, 2009 11:03 PM

What my sister did with my nephew when he was teething really bad was she put a damp washcloth in the freezer over night then gave it to him to chew on. Apparently the feel of cloth feels really good to them and because of that they keep it in their mouths long enough for it to numb really well. I'm not sure about the age limitations on teething tablets.
Ellie has two teeth right now. She got her first a month ago and the second a week or so later. They are uneven right now :) One is only half-way in. But yeah she was acting totally normal. We were just out to lunch and she seemed to be chewing on everything so I let her chew on my finger and I was like "hey wait a minute..." haha

angelmonkey - April 19th, 2009 5:36 AM

aww bless her, yea i may try that but she doesnt semm to know how to chew just suck lol, she has been chewing on her hands an alot actually and she'l try bite my knuckle but anything else she just sucks

amanda17 - April 19th, 2009 12:06 PM

Aw that must be frustrating for her. Hmm... I dunno, that herbal stuff sounds like a good idea

newbaby2009 - April 19th, 2009 8:53 PM

I love your new hair Amanda! I just mine cut too, about 8 inches off. I was going for the "beckham bob" but the stylist screwed it up.

Mylie isnt doing very well. Shes 8 weeks now and has been in and out of Childrens Hospital. She had GERD. She has an umbilical hernia. Because it started before her cord completley closed it pushed a piece of her intestines out of her belly button and it started to get infected. She cant eat or sleep or poop well. She screams all the time because shes in so much pain. She screams while eating. It takes an hour to get 3 ounces in her. She screams while pooping because shes majorly constipated 24/7 and it hurts her. She wakes up screaming every 2 hours or so. Needless to say im completely run down and exhausted. She just started losing weight. She goes for a barium edema xray Wed. They'll run a tube into her bowels and fill them with liquid and take pictures. They have to strap her down to do it. Im not sure i can handle it.

But she did start smilng about 3 weeks ago. Its a rare occurance but so wonderful when it happens. Her top two teeth are coming through. I really hope she handles teething well but i doubt it. Just wouldnt fit the trend.

Rylie on the other hand is very good. She is quite the talker. I cant believe she'll be 2 soon. We're having a Mickey Mouse party. She very jealous of her baby sister though.

Mylies screaming again, imagine that.

amanda17 - April 19th, 2009 10:53 PM

I'm so sorry newbaby! I had no idea Mylie was having such a hard time. Poor baby. I hope she'll be okay soon. :(

angelmonkey - April 20th, 2009 6:51 AM

sorry to hear that newbaby, sounds like your havinga rough time, hope she gets better soon......do you use anything for her teething?

PreciousBaby19 - April 21st, 2009 6:50 PM

hello everyone. Haven't been on in a while because i've been so busy. We spent the last two weeks painting our new house, Two bedroom and really nice now. I'll put up pictures after we move and everything is settled. (myspace) but until then i'm just too tired to do it.

Everything is going well, i've been very sick recently and i'm trying to get on and get things done but i'm exhausted and on lots of pain killers. I had my internal ultrasound xray today and i get the results in a week. So monday. the 27th.

I also know i shouldn't have taken this job. I start tomorrow its just part time from 10 am to 2 pm and its an administrative position. I start tomorrow and its just for 4 weeks to cover the sickness of someone else. But the place i want to work for says i need a bit more office experience so i'm just building up as much as I can. Plus we've spent over 4000£ getting our new hours all nice so i want to start saving up and a litte part time job will help with that.

I guess its also to take my mind off a lot of things, to keep me busy. I'm run down and exhausted but i just need to stay busy. We are moving into our new flat on tuesday the 28th so we need to get things going. =) everything looks nice i wish you all could see it. So far its going well. Everything is going well i guess. Things are looking up. Anyway, i'll let you know how it goes.

V9653 - April 22nd, 2009 4:23 AM

Hey everyone! Sorry to hear that everyone's been so tired and run down. And Newbaby, I'm so sorry that your little one is having such a hard time, I know it has to be eating you alive.
I've been coming on but a bit ago I came on and there was nothing new so I kind of got lazy. Also my dad suprised me by showing up from Louisiana about a week and a half ago, so we've been running constantly.

On the subject of moving in or not...I still dunno! The relationship is still great, and it all seems like it'd be wonderful, but those little things keep holding me back. Plus I just don't know if I can take another leap like that with a guy, unless I know that there is some serious committment involved! Well, my bf claims that he already knows I'm the one and he wants us married by this time next year, and he even tricked me into a jewelry store to price engagement rings, but my ex did some of that talk and I've learned that it's easy to talk about it, but so hard to actually do it, and sometimes people don't completely mean it. I think I can say right now I'm 75/25, and leaning more on the side of taking him up on the offer. But that changes day to day. Tomorrow I could feel 50/50! I'm totally running out of time! My dad loves him though!

PreciousBaby19 - April 22nd, 2009 8:39 AM

Well V there is no need to rush things, take it slow. Tell him tha tyour thinking about the offer but you dont want to go any furthur in that direction until you feel like you are completely ready. If your not ready then it can ruin a perfectly good relationship by taking steps too quickly.

=) when the time is right you'll know 100 percent.

Newbaby, i'm sorry to hear about your little one. Its so upsetting when things like that happen. Now i dont really belive in god but i'll keep you and your babe in my hearts.

As for me. I'm at my job just now, and go home in about 20 minutes or so. =) things are good, its really sunny and i'm feeling really good today. My job doesn't start until 10 am and goes until 2 pm. Its just a part time thing until we move. So far its going well, very nice people, its a small office so its very quite I like that. I'm really liking it and its only for about 4 weeks, so then i'll get another job thats even better. I'm waiting to hear on a full time administrative position that pays 9 pound an hour or 18 dollars an hour. from 9 to 5 pm. I wont hear about that until this one is done so this keeps me busy.

Starting to pack up our old flat tonight. The women is coming by to take pictures so i haveto hide the cats. AHHHHHh
