How far along are you. Actually feeling movement is common at night. This is because during the day, you are up and about more. Your movement somewhat soothe the baby to sleep. At night, the body stops moving so much, and the baby tends to wake up and think its play time. Also, you re more likely to be aware of the movement when you are relaxed and resting. Most first time mothers will feel the baby move around 18-22 weeks. Quickening can happen and sometimes be felt as early as 15 weeks. The first movements will feel a lot like a small gas bubble pop, or maybe like holding a butterfly. These movement shouldn't be painful, and at first won't be very strong. Over the weeks they will become increasingly stronger, and eventually there will be no doubt you are feeling... and watching your baby move. As you get farther along, if you have a really active baby, you may even have strangers that can tell through your clothes that your little one is squirming! Have fun!

is that too early to feel anything...i kno what ur thinkin but it only happens at night and u didn't answer about the squshiness...i think its suppose to be hard

Well that is a bit too early to tell. Most women dont feel anything till they are 18+ weeks along. Your stomach will be squishy still. The baby is still really low, near your pubic bone. I didnt feel any hardness till i was 15wks and then it was hard to find the little hard spot.

thanx...u really reassured me...so the squishiness is nothing to worry about, but i do feel thumps at night and there not really light...do u think i could b a little more far along give or take some weeks?

You won't feel the baby move for about another 8-10 weeks (or maybe even longer). Your belly won't become hard until the uterus is big enough to be felt. Right now the uterus still sits below your pubic bone (or right at it.) Each week it will increase upward towards your navel at a rate of about 1/2" per week. This is why at about 20 weeks pregnant, only the below your belly button will be hard. That is where the uterus is. Until your uterus fills atleast some of your abdomen, you will continue to be "squishy". I am currently 18wks pregnant w/ our 2nd child. I am still quite squishy, although I can feel my uterus.
