Brady was born on Sat., Dec. 27th at 37 weeks, 1 day. He was 6lbs, 10oz, and 19.5 inches long. He's amazing! He sleeps a lot (during the day :)) and is a natural at breastfeeding. I went into labor on the day after Christmas. My parents and bro had just left, so dh and I took some time for ourselves...we took the dogs for a long walk, bded, and played some nintendo Wii (our gift to ourselves for x-mas). So, I was pretty active. I then noticed that I lost my mucus plug and started having intermittent contractions. I started timing them by around 6-7pm that evening and noticed that they were every 15 minutes like clockwork. We went to the hospital at around 3:00am on the 27th when I was having contractions every 4-5 minutes. When we got there, I was 3cms. dilated and 100% effaced. The hospital had me walk for an hour to try to move things along. It didn't really work (I was still 3cms.), but they admitted me anyway because the contractions were getting stronger and they were so regular. After a couple more hours of contractions, I got an epidural and the the nurse/midwife broke my water to get things progressing faster. After that, everything went really fast. I dilated from 3-10 cms. in about 2 hours total. And then I pushed for about 20 minutes. At 2:07pm, Brayden was born. My dh was so cute - he was really helpful through the whole delivery and he kept telling me how proud he was of me :) We went home on monday, and we are all doing great! I had a litte tearing, but nothing too bad. I just have a couple of stitches. Otherwise, I'm just a little tired, tryng to adjust to motherhood and feedings at night. But, he is worth everything - the pain, the tiredness, etc. I already love him so much!

Yeah, Brayden has been a gift! Oh, and yes, this is my first, so I'm still trying to get a hang of everything (slowly). And, I was really excited that he took to breastfeeding so well - I was pretty worried about it beforehand. Good luck to oct and E with your l&d and your little ones.
