I am not sure if this is what i am feeling or not but i was just wondering do you feel BH in a certain part of your belly? do you feel them high or low? i know they are not suppose to be painful and mine aren't but i keep feeling a tightening feeling high but i was just wondering if that is actually what i'm feeling and not playing tricks with myself in my head! LOL

No, that sounds like BH. It's a tightening of your belly and you can feel it spread and then your belly will become rock hard for a few secs or mins depending on how intense it is. Sometimes they can hurt a little, or even take your breath away. I think every woman's experience of BH can be different...and maybe you will only feel yours high up. That being said sometimes my boy would move and put a lot of pressure on one spot on my belly that would make it go hard.

I think every woman feels them a bit differently. For me, I can feel them coming on because my stomach gets really tight from the bottom and works its way up to where my whole belly is incredibly tight and it hurts like hell to touch it. My hubby made the mistake one time of poking my stomach during a contraction and i about decked him cuz it hurt so bad! Also, sometimes the baby can ball him/herself up making our stomach tight too which can confuse you into thinking you are having a contraction. The way I can tell a difference is that with a contraction my entire stomach is rock solid but when baby balls up it's just tight where the baby is. I hope this helps you and that i answered your question!

Rainbow - I talked to my OB the other day about this, and she said you can have BH with out your whole belly being involved. Mine tend to be at the bottom. Sometimes they start low and move up. Then sometimes my whole stomach get hard as a rock all at one time.

Sounds like BH. I agree with that cfuller said, regarding balling up vs. contractions. I started having these at 19 weeks and didn't know what it was either. But that's how mine were too. Mine are in my lower belly.

Mine don't hurt but they feel odd to me, just like she put a foot somewhere odd, and then I feel my belly and it's rock solid. Mine last for at least a minute usually. But some women feel it low, some feel it high. I personally feel mine low.
