there is a small bacterial parasite in cat poop that causes an infection called toxoplasmosis that can adversely affect the fetus in the first trimester especailly but also throughout the pregnancy. |

Cats have to become infected with toxoplasmosis. This can happen if they eat raw meat (prey). Indoor cats who have never been feed raw meat are not likely to be infected. It is advised that if you need to clean cat litter, wear gloves and wash your hands after. |
