Examination

I just had my first internal examination at the start of my 39th week. Just when the doctor placed his finger inside, I felt a burning sensation. He tried 3 times and I felt a burning sensation each time. It was very unconfortable. The doctor could not complete the examination. He felt the head but could not feel the pelvic. Has anyone had the same experience? What should I do? I going back next week for my 40th exam to try again. Thank you in advance for helping.

did he use pleanty of lubrication? my midwife said its quite common not to be able to reach the cervix as when the head comes down it pushes the cervix facing backwards. ie harder to get to.

If you think that is bad wait untill labour :-p They give you regular internals. The best thing to do is grin and bare it. They are very uncomfortable, but needed.
