Haven't had internet for a few weeks so late on the birth story, but she was born on July 22 which is 3 days past her due date. She was 7 lbs 5 oz, 19 1/2 in. But she has gained a pound and has grown 4 inches in two weeks. Well I was scheduled for an induction the 26th but she came before that on her own. This is my first and will agree, labor is the most pain you will ever go through but it is not as bad as I thought. I started going into labor at 3 in the morning and called the nurse on call. She said to call back when the contractions were around 5 min. Well they started coming on soon after at about 6-7 min. I wanted to get to the hospital before things hit the fan, lol. So I woke a very cranky hubby up and we headed to the hospital. When we got there they put me into triage and I stayed in there for a couple of hours and was 2 cm. After a couple of hours I still wasn't progressing so they thought I was in pre labor and wanted to discharge me. I was in pain at this point, and they said since I wasn't dialating they had to send me home, but to come back when the contractions were 5 min apart. I went back home and labored there for about an hour. The contractions were killing me. I was also so exhausted with no sleep. After about an hour at home we headed back, in a rainstorm. I was barely making it through contractions at this point. It felt like a vice grabbing my insides and twisting them. Just extreme, sharp pressure. Well when we got back the manager apoligized for discharging me and set me up in a room. Short after I got Stadol, and progressed to a four after I napped. The Stadol took about 50% of the pain away, and all anxiety. I would recommend it. Well after a few hours I was a 4, and then came the epidural. Once I got that I was on cloud 9 with no pain. I watched the contractions get more and more intense on the machine but I felt none of it. With that they gave me pitocin, to help speed things along. Got that and was ready to push in no time. I pushed for two hours, and the babies heartbeat was 170 from the strain. So the dr wanted to do a vacuum and episiodomy. I ended up with just the episiodomy. All in all it was a beautiful experience and worth it to see her. They are so precious when they are first born. Kelsey just kept looking around in awe, it was so adorable. GL Iadies!

congrats on your baby!! Sorry you had to go and then leave and go back again. I don't agree with that practice at all. With my first I never did dilate my daughter went inot distress and they did an emergency c-section. They almost lost us both I don't even what to think about what would've happened had they told me to go back home b/c I wasn't dilating.

congratulations...thanks for the stadol info, it is comforting to know that there is something to take a good amount of the pain away before the epidural gets there!! !
