Hi everyone, well, I went in for induction at 7am November 18. It all got rolling about 9am when they started me on Picotin and then the doctor broke my water. I started having regular contractions and did really well until about 4pm when I got an epidural, which was no problem and absolutely fabulous-I only got a mild headache when on my left side only, and was able to sleep for about two hours. I started rapidly dilating after the epidural (I think the pain held me back) then all of a sudden I was 6cm dilated, then around 5:30 I started throwing up. They checked me and I was 8cm. From then on, everytime I would dilate a cm, I would throw up and they would know to check. At 7pm, I started laboring down (thanks djm!) and then started pushing at about 8:30. When I would push down, there was a piece of cervix that would show up and block his head. They let me labor down some more, upped the picotin, and I tried pushing again at 1:30am. This was unsuccessful, as the cervix was still blocking, and the doctor felt his head and realized he was too big for my pelvis and that was probably why the cervix would not go away-no pressure from him. They decided to do a c-section which if anyone is terrified of this, stop reading now. I went in and they got him out at 3:49am on November 19. Then as they put me back together all of my anesthesia wore off and I felt everything. No matter what they gave me, I had hot spots right by the incision. It was horrible. I finally had to be numbed with lidocaine for them to sew me because I could feel it. After crying hysterically for an hour, and finally being able to open my eyes again, I looked down on the most beautiful little face ever created. He is 9 lbs, 3oz, 21 1/2 inches long, and so much fun!!! He is really laid back but wants to eat when he wants to and not too fond of being undressed. We got out Tuesday from the hospital, but went back Thanksgiving night because he had jaundice escalate. We got out again yesterday morning and he is doing much better. Thank you all for reading this and for all the extremely helpful advice during my pregnancy. You all are wonderful and I wish you all the best with your bundles of joys!!!!
