My hubby bought me a vibrating massage chair for xmas...it's so nice. You can use it in your car or around the house. I find it very soothing but of course I worry about whether it is safe for the babe, or the possibilities of bringing on labour. I'm 36 weeks, small frame, HUGE tummy. It's good for the lower back but it does have a strong vibration. Can anyone think of a reason NOT to use it??

Sorry to tell you, but my doc said not until after the baby is born, because the vibration is too strong.

I also got one. But when I asked my Dr. about it he said that as long as it didn't heat up too much, (has a heating element too) it was a great gift. So I guess ask your doctor.

I got one too... . I am only 29weeks. I don't use the heat and I think I only use it for maybe 5-6minutes at a time. Although.. I love it I'm just scared of going into labor early. I only use the upper and lower back vibes only! I think that using the seat cushion would be to much.

I asked my doctor about the chair at my appointment yesterday. She is a specialist who deals with complicated pregnancies, and has so for years, so I expect she knows what she is talking about. She told me that the vibration is not enough to hurt anything. These massage chairs are not strong enough to start anything (and then she made a joke abuot not turning it up past 12). With my history (fast deliveries), if there were anything to worry about, I am sure she would have told me not to use it.
