So, this is an embarrassing one.

You know how we can't reach far down after we grow to a sizeable frame. Well, I can no longer see my pubic region, let alone guess where to shave. I don't want to mess around with razors in that sensitive in an area. Since I am so sensitive in that region, waxing is now off limits.

Are our obs. judging us is we have an unkempt pubic area?

Any solutions or recommendations?

I know from my first pregnancy that I couldn't do anything down there and after a certain point, I didn't care to either because I was too impatient to have the baby. I would think that OBs don't care as long as things are clean there. I am only in my second trimester with this pregnancy, but it's to the point that I can't see down there already so I've been using a mirror to see what I'm doing. If you trust your SO, you could ask him to help you...even if you use an electric razor so there's less chance of getting cut. Hope this helps a little.

Don't worry. They don't care. Most pregnant women have to give up on it before they hit the 9 months mark so you're not alone and it's nothing they haven't seen before (and is perfectly natural).

I agree with Malica. They see their share of all types of vjjs and during labor, they will see so much more stuff that a lot of hair probably doesn't phase them. It's funny for some reason, I'm more self conscious of my feet and toes! ha! Like everytime I have an appt, I want to make sure my toes are painted and feet smell fresh. I'm weird though. :D

When I couldn't see anymore, I stopped worrying about it. Obs really don't care, because they are more understanding than our husband's. That and with your prenatals, you wouldn't be able to keep up anyway. And when the baby's born, it'll be hard to find time to even take a shower. So I wouldn't worry about it. Things will get back to normal, as much as possible anyway.

This is my fourth pregnancy, and I'll tell you I am not even thinking about shaving. With my first three I had the same doc. in NY and she said its better not to shave before labor because you can get infection easier that way when you are in the hospital in labor. Although now I live in TN and I have a mid-wife I didn't even ask her. I'll just do what is SAFER and easier for me.

Don't worry at all, OB's are used to it, they KNOW you can't see or reach down there, and remember there are woman who don't "maintain" down there at all, so OB's have seen it all. I thought about having my DH help me out but I got a lil nervous when the time came, so I felt around a while and did it myself...lol... it came out ok, but I think I am done now...I may have him trim a bit, but no razors lol...and I was rather undone with my first due to how miserable and big I was at the end, and I got no negative reaction from my Dr, or the nurses....they are used to it!!! So relax.

i was so self concious about it i got into every position in the book u can think of in a tiny shower stall trying to shave down there. One leg up sitting down ... trying to push my belly ande boobs out of the way... it was a mess lol.. i think it probably looked worse when i was done too because im sure i missed... but i was 42 weeks and knew i was gettin induced and i was ready to go
