Rib Pain - Burning Sensation

Well, I'm almost 39 weeks and seem to get this type of apin as you described it, but only when baby moves against the ribs or something like that, very sharp and painful, then it disappears. It's not indigestion? Sorry, can't think of anything else...if it is due to the pregnancy and where baby is sitting, it should disappear after he's born. There's a lot of pressure in there now against vital organs that shouldn't be pushed where they are! If you've also had it the entire pregnancy, I'm not sure. Either waituntil he'sborn to see if there's a difference, or ask you doctor to be safe. Good luck |

I've had this on and off type of pain that happens out of the blue, right below my right rib that feels like a really bad pull in the muscle or something. It's to the point that I can't move when I get it, and breathing hurts. Last night it happened out of the blue when I was getting out of the bath and then I couldn't move all night long. I was so worried it would not go away, but when I woke up this morning I was grateful that it seemed to have stopped hurting. Anyways, I think it's a pull of some type of muscle, that either I do or my baby does with the wrong movement...but I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing. It's not a 'burning" feeling like heartburn or indigestion, but more of a really bad muscle pull. One thing to pay attention to is that your gallbladder is located right under your right breast and if you're having burning as in digestion problems, it could be gallstones, common in pregnancy. Try reading up on them. I had gallstones and surgery to remove my gallbladder earlier on in my pregnancy and trust me....it hurt like crazy! And it CAN be dangerous if left untreated, so maybe look it up on the net and mention it to your doctor next time you see them! No one wants any surprises at 39 weeks, right?!? Good luck! |

I am 39 weeks and 3 days. I have had bad rib pain my whole pregnancy but just the last 2 weeks I have had very sharp shooting pains mostly in my left side. I would say it feels like "burning". I get them on and off all day and all night. I ask my doctor at every appt about this and she says there is nothing to worry about. Most likely it is the baby pushing on a nerve or something that causes it. She also said there is nothing that can be done until the baby comes out. 2 weeks ago she said it may help once the baby dropped but now that I am almost due and still have that same pain - she told me there was nothing left to do but wait until baby was out. I can barely lay on either of my sides because it hurts so bad. Can't wait til he comes!!! Hopefully soon. |
