Sweet Smelling Fluid At 37 Weeks...Help!

I've been smelling sweet fluid in my panties since my appointment this afternoon when my doc checked me. I am 2 cm dilated. It can't be my waters breaking because it's not that much, just seems like a teaspoon or so here and there but I wonder if it's amniotic fluid leaking and if that's a problem? Anyone know? Or is it just a normal occurance as body prepares for birth?

It may be. Sometimes you just get a little tear in the bag and the waters leak out. If you are at all concerned ring the labour ward and speak with a midwife.

you should call your dr. because if your waters are leaking and you leave it alone it can cause an infection for you and baby. also, don't have sex if your not sure.

I'm sure you've already resolved the situation but for anyone else in a similar situation reading this... I would call the doctor. My water broke and it was like little drips at a time. Granted after an hour there was a very obvious gush of fluids for me but you don't want to let it go because you can get an infection. Better to be on the safe side.
