crrodgers - August 2nd, 2007 1:47 PM

Hey hapi- I Spent 3 long hours at the diabetes center yesterday. It was kind of neat because I met another pregnant lady and she happened to live close to where I live and our kids go to the same preschool! Small world! I learned a lot about gestational diabetes. I've been having to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks in a day and check my sugar levels 4X a day. So far everything has been good, my levels are where they are supposed to be and I feel good! My myspace page is
w w w . m y s p a c e . com / mommyrodgers (take out the spaces) you have to request me as a friend. I have some neat belly pics and 3 d u/s pics. Hope everyone is well!!! I have 6 more weeks to go....countdown is on! Oh, Lisa, you are right, my due date is actually Oct. 9th but I am scheduled for a c- section on Sept. 12th due to a previous uteran tear.

staci - August 2nd, 2007 2:43 PM

Hapi I love the new pics!!!! And how wonderful the twins are at a great wt. and position!! So the dr's are optimistic you will be able to deliver vaginally? That would be so great!!! Crrodgers you don't have long at all to go!! Wonderful! Hope everyone is doing well! I'm very tired, but will be back with a lengthier post soon! Oh and lisa, I know i told you on piczo, but i'll tell you here as well how great you are looking, def. got the glow!! Is that your friend or family member you took your last belly shot with? Just wondering, being nosy lol! I will take another soon, i am growing so danged fast! and I still feel like i have forever! November is to far away....

Hey Hapi - I am still working 2 jobs... :( and I do think that it's slowly catching up with me. You see, hockey season is just beginning to start up here in Nova Scotia again and I want to be there to set the standard and take care of business for while I am on maternity leave. My other job, my full time job, isn't too stressful, it's a desk job and it's pretty laid back so I don't mind staying on board there. I'm hoping to stay at work (both jobs) as long as I can! If one has to give though, it'll be the full time job...because hockey really needs to be set up correctly from the get-go. If I feel it's too much, then I'll back off...promise! So baby boy is way down...when is your due date again?? You must be looking forward to meeting your two angels!!! Talk to you all soon!

crrodgers - August 2nd, 2007 6:55 PM

Ok, so I just got kicked in the belly SOOOO hard that I screamed just out of the blue! It was like at the top left side of my belly and he must have hit a nerve or something because it shot up all the way into my arms....This little guy is getting strong!!! I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to check and see if my placenta has moved up because it was low at 20 weeks. I am also curious to know how big he is!

frozenfeet - August 2nd, 2007 9:19 PM

crrodgers - I had a low placenta at 20 weeks too, and just got my update ultrsound on Monday...thankfully, the plancenta went up, hopefully your's did too! I guess most do, 3 out of 4! My little lo has been punching me or kicking me in the lower left side (he/she's head down) for a couple weeks now and when they do, it sends a shooting sharp pain straight down my left leg!! OMG....I think I'm going to fall over when this happens. Strong little buggers!!

tonia - August 2nd, 2007 9:29 PM

Hi ladies! I went to the dr yesterday and had my 1 hour GT done. My dr's office called today to let me know i am not anemic and I passed the GT. So yeay!!!!! Claudia, sounds like you have very strong little kicker in there! lol! Oh, and I have gained 25 pounds so far. Fun for me! Also, baby Kenadi is now head down, that was a relief to know, I had a fear she was going to be breach for some reason.

angela1986 - August 2nd, 2007 9:32 PM

Well i had to make a brief visit to urgent care. I started seeing spots everywhere and the drs said if i saw them then my bp might be going up again and i could be starting in on the first signs of preclampsia. Thank goodness it was high, but i was boarderline. The baby is still moving fine, i suppose its just getting so close that everything is just coming all at once. He said if im still seeing spots tomorrow that i need to go back to obgyn and they'd probably put me on some medicine. But i have a regular appt. with them on Tuesday, and they'll let me know the results of my strep b test and check my cervix. Hopefully we'll here good news, going on 36 weeks now. Time is flying by. But sorry i havent done personals its been a long day, just wanted to updare everyone, i will ttyl.

crrodgers - August 2nd, 2007 9:34 PM

Hey Tonia, Congrats on passing GD! It's sucks to have it! Imagine being pregnant and add to that being on a diet! It sucks!!!! The weird thing is that I have gained a total of 7 lbs in 30 weeks of pregnancy....I never ate bad to begin with so it was a shocker to me to be diagnosed with GD. I am feeling extra tired today! I just want to go to sleep but I don't think that's goiing to happen with my girls running around all over the place!

frozenfeet - August 2nd, 2007 9:41 PM

Hi tonia - Congrats on passing the 1 GT...that's great news!! After having that drink and making it's way through my system...I crashed hard...did you find that? I prayed so hard that I'd pass the 1 hr cause I couldn't imagine sitting through the 3hr...yuck!! How far along are you now? And the name you have picked out...how would you pronounce that...it looks very beautiful!

lissica - August 2nd, 2007 9:53 PM

Hi girls. Oh this horrid heat and humidity is back. It always causes one of those annoying nagging headaches. Claudia..i'm glad you got to meet another preggo. I love being around them lol. Oh right i forgot about the uteran tear. How long will baby have to stay in the hospital after your section? Staci..thanks for the compliments. I do feel really good. The girl in my belly pic is my best friend. She's also going to be the one setting up my baby shower. When in nov are you due?Sarah, best of luck with both jobs. How much longer will you work? Tonia, nice to hear from you. Glad to hear you passed the 1hr glucose. I still am awaiting my results. It's nice to know your baby is head down. I was worried too that this little guy would stay on his side but at the last doc appt he said baby was almost fully turned. 25lbs is pretty good. I'm at 30lbs now. I heard with the first baby you gain the most? it's fun to hear all our babies are getting so strong. I'm amazed every day at how powerful he's getting. I think he's going to be a big boy. Rebecca, i'm happy to hear things are going well with you. Do you have everything for the babies already? Can they share a crib or are they supposed to have their own?

frozenfeet - August 2nd, 2007 10:05 PM

Hey Lisa - I'm hoping to work right up until somewhere around the 20th of September. See, I'm a new permanent resident in canada and in your first 52 weeks of working in canada, to qualify for maternity leave, you have to have 840 hours accumilated of work hours. Mine is close because it took so long for me to get work visas and etc. so I'm kind of cutting it close...maybe once I know I have the 840 for sure, then I'll cut loose a bit earlier...you know what I mean? I'd like to be done a couple weeks before the baby...but I'm just not sure that'll happen! So, 30 lbs huh...you were so tiny when you got preggers, that I would believe that you'd gain more weight then some....I had a little layer of Christmas fat on when I got preggers so, right now, I'm at 20 lbs gained...and I'm very happy with that!!

hapistuff - August 3rd, 2007 11:23 AM

Crrodgers … It sounds like you are making the best out of your situation. It helps to stay optimistic. I do not know how to request friends on myspace. I know nothing re myspace –sorry. That is so cool that he kicked you so hard – maybe you have a soccer player in there? To bad it hurt. Staci … At this point they are saying I could have a vaginal delivery. I sure hope so. Have you been getting more tired and having to rest a lot during the day? Well now they are saying my due date is 9/26 but that I will go as early as 3 weeks. Only the twins truly know. Tonia … Congrats on passing the tests. I just love the name Kenadi. Angela … It’s good to know they are taking good care of you. Take it easy. Lisa … I still have some things to buy but for the most part we are good. We are having the twins sleep in a co-sleeper together for the first few months. Then we will move both to one crib with a divider. Once they are able to pull themselves up over the divider we will move each to a separate crib, next to one another with a divider between the cribs. Then once they are able to stand, we will move them to put more space between the cribs so they can not touch each other and play. It’s a whole process –lol. Frozen … You sound good. Whatever you are doing keep it up.

socalmom - August 3rd, 2007 12:54 PM

Hi ladies...Ok so I had the strangest dream last night, non pregnant me went to see me and the new baby at the hospital (short version) I can't stop thinking about it!! I hope it doesn't mean the baby is coming early! I've just been so anxious lately, I think because my dd was born at 32 weeks and I keep waiting for something to go wrong with this pregnancy (I'm 33 weeks today) I just needed to vent a little, I've been around just not posting to much....

crrodgers - August 3rd, 2007 3:27 PM

Update - I went to the perinatologist (SP?) and he did an u/s to see if my placenta was still low and it is not! Yay! One less thing to worry about. They measured the baby and he measures right at 30 weeks (which I am) and he is 3 lbs 3 oz. He is on target to be just under 6 lbs at birth. He should be coming home with me at the same time I get released (My fingers are crossed that all goes well!) I have been feeling really tired! I just want to sleep! I was able to go to sleep at 8:30 last night and I hope to get a nap in today....we'll see! Hope everyone is well!

lissica - August 3rd, 2007 7:01 PM

Sarah..sounds like a lot of work you have to do with the whole residency and stuff. But you gotta love the year off eh? I'm only going to take 17wks then dh is taking the 35wks. I'd much rather him take most of it cus when i go back to work in january it's only going to be maybe 3-4 shifts/month. Rebecca, wow it really is a process lol. Sounds like it's going to work though. Hopefully they are both quiet babies. Hi socalmom, good to hear from you. Your dream sounds like something i would conjure up lol. I can understand you being nervous around this time but i'm sure this baby will stay put. Claudia, glad to hear the placenta is higher.I really hope as well that he will be able to go home with you. Sounds like he's growing perfectly!

frozenfeet - August 3rd, 2007 9:38 PM

Hey Lisa - I'm so shocked at the canadian maternity leave...it's fantastic and coming from the us where you only get 8-12 weeks (not even usually paid)...this is a huge shock to me. Unfortunately, my husband and I won't be taking full advantage of it...but atleast if I do need it, it's there with not worries!!! Hi Socal!! What a crazy dream, I wish I were dreaming but I've got some serious insomnia going on the last week or so! It sucks...and tires me out big time! Got a long weekend here so I'm hoping to catch up on some much needed rest! The house...is just gonna have to wait...and I just can't wait for my DH to get home...just 13 more days....I can't wait! It's been a long 7 weeks without him (although I did see him for a week halfway through...just not at home). Great news about the placenta claudia....it's a huge relief for sure! Just one less thing to have to worry about! Hapi - I love the thought of the twins in a co-sleeper, I bet it'll be so so so cute!!!
