I had 4 kids and all of them had to be induced. My body just don't know how to go in labor for itself. It hurts like hell but you will be glad its over. Try to see if they can induce you without castor oil. Taste like crap. I had to drink castor oil with 2 of my kids to induce labor, a lot of people say it doesn't work, well by itself it doesn't but the doctor makes you drink that after he/she has inserted a suppository in the vagina to thin out the cervix. I tell you it hurts like hell. But then again I had two kids in Germany that may not be the practice here in the states. Germans do everything different but they are highly affective people. Sorry to go on, I know I talk too much. Good luck

I was induced with my 2nd as he was 2 weeks overdue, they simply broke my waters, and yes the contractions seemed alot more painful, mainly due to the fact there was no build up to the pain but i had a very quick labour

I was just induced 2 weeks ago. I had my first 2 went on my own and induced with the 3rd. I was like you 4 cm dilated for some time. I didn't think it was anymore painful than going natural and I was worried and scared it would be. I didn't have any pain medicine. They hooked me up to pitocin but start you out very slow. At 7cm I was still feeling fine, she broke my water and 45 min. later baby was born. From start to finish was less than 2 hours. Yes, at the end it hurt like everything but by that time I was ready to push. Is this your first baby? My second baby came fast too. Try not to worry about it too much. I spent 6 days worrying about it and honestly it wasn't that bad. The fact that you are already dilated, just think you got that part done already.
