Everything that I read says we should be writing out a birth plan. We are first time parents due in early July, and have an idea of what we want to happen during labour and delivery but does the hospital & staff expect us to bring our "plans" in on paper? Did many of you do it? Was it helpful? Was it followed? I realize that at any moment the whole plan can be blown out of the water if there is complications etc. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Rans- I am wondering the same thing you are. I am due June 8th, and I have made a birth plan......although I feel like....since I dont know what to expect......I may change my mind about several things. I am going to keep my plan handy, but I am going to go over everything with my husband, so he can talk for me if need be. There are certain things I am strong about, and then certain things that I want to just feel out as I am progressing through labor. I would love to hear what other women have to say about their experiences with birth plans.
