Cervical Exam

I am 38 weeks and today they checked to see how much I dilated. When I got home, I was bleeding and I have been in a lot of discomfort in that region. The doctor said that that was normal but it really bothers me that it is. Has anybody else had this happen??? As well my weight gain over the week was 5 pounds and my blood pressure which has been great, skyrocketed this visit. Could I get preclamsia this late in the game??
