How To Tell If You're Close To Going Into Labor

I am a first-time mother and 37 weeks along. At my 36 week visit, my doctor checked my cervix and told me I had already dilated 3 cm. The baby dropped almost two weeks ago, and I've lost my mucous plug, but haven't had a bloody show yet. People keep telling me that I could go into labor any day now, or I could still be pregnant for weeks. Has this happened to anybody else? When did you finally go into labor?

yes, it can a while. when your water breaks you are ready but keep in mind that some women's waters break during hard labour too. it will happen soon. good luck!
