my MIL is getting on my nerves! she said i had a small baby when my dd was born 3 years ago. she was 6 pounds, 14oz and 19.75 inches long! she said that's small!? she expected 8 pounds! i'm like she's crazy!!!!!!!!!!! i'm a small petite woman and my husband isn't tall or big either.
so, can anyone tell me if BIGGER BABY IS ALWAYS BETTER?

My daughter was about the same size as yours when she was born almost 4 years ago and I thought she was small compared to all of my friends babies. I'm not expecting a bigger baby (baby measured in the 80th percentile a week ago). I don't think that a bigger baby is always better or that a smaller baby is better...as long as the baby is healthy it shouldn't matter the size. Babies are normally around the same weight as the parents when they were born. I would tell her that the baby will be the perfect size no matter how big or small it is.

Babies come in different shapes and sizes just like we all are. My first was 7lbs. 12oz., my second was, 8lbs. 2oz., my third was 7 lbs. 2oz. I will tell you bigger is not better when it comes to delivery. My second was so hard to push out and I tore horribly. As long as baby is healthy, it don't matter what they weigh. I believe 6.5 lbs. is average weight anyway.

It's been 3 years and she is still talking about it? Does she just suddenly say out of nowhere that you had a small baby? Sounds like she needs to get a life. I mean your baby was almost 7 lbs and she expected 8, it's really not that big a difference.

I think your MIL has a screw loose. My first 2 babies were both 7 ibs 15 ounces and they were healthy as could be, not any immediate issues. Well my DD was born at 8 ibs 13 ounces (almost a ibs bigger than my boys I just about died) anyway when she was born she was rushed under a heat lamp because her temperature dropped. so if bigger is better why did she have temp issues? Don't listen to her as a babies size has nothing to do with how healhy a baby is.
