Measuring Small

Well, I just read this and now I am worried, as I am 30 weeks pregnant, and 24cm belly ------- "Incredibly, the number of centimetres usually equals the number of weeks that you are pregnant! This tends to be accurate to within two centimetres. So at 32 weeks' pregnant, your measurement should be somewhere between 30 and 34 centimetres. " |

I am sure you are doing ok hon.. Have you been drinking more water, fluids than you did at the beginning of this pregnancy??? I read that you need to keep drinking to keep up the fluids. I am sure you will be ok.. You are also VERY SMALL.. so maybe that has something to do with it. Good luck today and let us know asap! |

Thanks Pebbles! I have been drinking a ton of juice, OJ and cranberry, and I recently fell in love with vitamin water haha. I feel like my belly was so much bigger at my last appointment but maybe it's just how she's been hanging out in there. |

Hi Alicia - I was measuring 24 centimetres at 28.5 weeks, but by my 30 week appointment I had grown to 27.5cm, which is still a little on the small side, but normal- sometimes you go through spurts. Probably good to get the u/s done just to ease your mind though, when do you have it? |

I am definitely excited for the u/s just so I can see her. :) I go today at 1:45 (2.5 hours from now) |

Hey Alicia. My belly is 4cm off at 36 weeks, but my doctor is not worried cuase baby is in head down position and dropped. I did get sent for an untrasound with my first child for the same reason, and everythign turned out OK. This would be one of yru first measurements, and I was told, as long as you are growing each week, you should be OK. |

Oh thats good to hear! I think my belly was a bit smaller at this appointment than it was 2 weeks ago, but it was also earlier in the day so I'm sure that has something to do with it. |

Guess I'm just little, the lady said baby was measuring right on track, she didn't mention fluid but I'm sure that's something my doctor would call about. She kept kicking the little u/s thingie and I got a great face pic. |

Alicia- I'm tiny too and besides measuring small a few weeks, I had also lost 3lbs since last appt. I was worried too, but weight came back, (then left again) so I'm sure our bodies are just dif. Plus w/ baby dropping head down...makes a dif. Keep ur Chin up:) I'm sure all is well!!! |

This is my third pregnancy and I have never had my belly measured with measuring tape to check cm. I used the same doctor for the first two and she had been delivering babies for 30 years and this doctor I am seeing has also been doing this a long time. My point being is that it must not be a very good way to tell size exactly. Sometimes I feel like knowing every little detail just makes you crazy at an already stressful time! I hope all is well with all you small tummies :o) |

I don't really know anything about this- I always seem to measure on track- but glad to hear that everything is ok with your baby- and that is great that you got to see her in u/s!! |
