Is it safe to take Benadryl, and Sudafed during pregnancy?

I was told no! I always get very bad sinus infections during the spring & fall. When I was ~18 weeks I got one and my dr's all told me just to take Clor Trimeton - don't know if I spelled that right. It did not work the best for me, but it definitely helped and I knew it wouldn't hurt the baby.
