This can be such a confusing question, because a lot of people do it differently. The day of my last period was July 31st and I'm due May 7th. So I count from that day. The first of each month is a new month. So on April 1st, I was 8 months pregnant. I'm 35 weeks now. Some people do what babyonboard said, by saying every 4 weeks is a new month, but most months are longer than 4 weeks. My opinion, if you did it that way, by 40 weeks, you would be 10 months pregnant. And realistically you're not pregnant for 10 months, you're pregnant like 9 months and 1 week. Have I completley confused you...lol? Sorry if I did. |

Every 4 weeks is one month. Pregnancy is 38 weeks from gestation (Conception) or 9.5 months. Doctors count in 40 weeks, starting from the first day of your last period, and they assume that your cycle is 28 days long and that you conceived on day 14. |

I believe you have just started your 8th month. It's confusing because you are IN your 8th month, but you are 7 months and a few days or weeks or whatever. I just say "in my X month" |

I always found the easiest way was to count backwards from your due date. I am due April 27th, so I say I was 8 months around March 27th ( which was between 35-36 weeks). |
