How much weight has everyone gained? I feel like a heifer! No one else I have talked to has gained as much as me. My doctor says it's water retention and just make sure I'm watching my sodium intake. I quit eating a lot of junk food and take out. I watch EVERYTHING I eat. It's just the last 2 months I have gained 12 and 11 lbs. I just started check-ups twice a month now and have gained 5 lbs since my last visit 2 weeks ago. I'm really worried! If I keep gaining weight like this my total gain will be something like 75lbs! I started at 150lbs. and am now 200.2!!!

My midwife told me that it's common to have a month or two during your pregnancy where you gain 10 lbs a month. I wouldn't worry too much, as long as you are watching what you eat and your doctor isn't that concerned. At least you know that if it's water retention, it'll come off as soon as the baby's born!

I don't know how far along you are, but once you enter your 7th and 8th month, you do gain more weight because the baby is gaining more. Good luck! It is a struggle, but if you are healthy and the baby is healthy don't worry about it. You can take it off when you are done.

Some people can put on a lot of water weight; my cousin who was a model went from 100 lbs to 160 with her first pregnancy and most of it was water, it all came off after she had the baby. I suppose you have already heard "drink enough water and cut off the salt" enough times but I was also adviced to eat pineapple as it is a natural diuretic.

I am 29 weeks 3 days and have gained 50lbs! That's why I'm so worried. The weight gain has been from the last 2 months. I was only gained 5 or 6 then it suddenly doubled!

My last couple of weeks I gained 10lb, Dr said due to fluid....I must still be retaining fluied 5 months later! :>

I'm at 32 weeks and I've gained 33 pounds. But at my last appointment, I had actually lost a pound since 2 weeks before. I think everybody's different and I've heard that if you gain weight from eating heatlhy, its a lot easier to get off afterward than if you gain it from eating junk food. I wouldn't worry too much. Breastfeeding is supposed to help, too.

I am almost there with you. I really started to pack on the pounds in the third trimester. I dont really watch what I eat though, I cant help it I crave sweets!!!! Anyways I started out at 152 and am now 187. Yikes!!!!! I think I am having a big baby so maybe that will help.

I forgot to say that my doctor keeps telling me that its alot of fluid retention and to watch the salts.

I am 30 weeks and have gained 46 pounds so far. I haven't really been watching what I eat either! The doctor isn't concerned really- He is just concerned that the baby will be born big. I have been measuring large also. I am just really hoping to take the weight off quickly once the baby is born

I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only onw. I was 125 lbs when I got pregnant and am now up to 195! Hopefully it's water retention. I just know I feel miserable and I hate to leave the house because I look so huge!

It sucks doesn't it! I have a feeling you'll taper off. I was gaining 5 lbs. a month- then 10 lbs. in one month- then the next month I only gained 1 lb. So maybe at your next visit you'll be pleasantly surprised by the number on the scale.

I am at 30 weeks and 32 pounds at my last appointment. I've only gained in my belly so needless to say, I'm huge. I can't even bare to sit anymore at work. I go nuts! If you doctor isn't worried, then I would worriy.
